@KySportsRadio Nobody cares about any of this. The only thing the majority of the fans care about is completing the assignment. Winning is all we care about. Answering questions but losing 12-14 games a year is not going to make him more popular.

Honestly if Mark Pope makes taking actual, real questions from fans a regular thing and giving direct answers, it would be something very few (if any) coaches would do in the country That sort of transparency can be a real unique trait and connect to fans. Well done

@wildcatnews We will see. As you said, if UK gives naming rights to Memorial Coloseum you are done with supporting UK athletics. Will be interesting to see if I am correct to doubt you.

The day UK commercializes the revered name “Memorial Coliseum” is the day I will no longer support UK or its leadership in any way in the future. This breaks my heart. Is everything for sale on the UK campus. Sadly, looks like answer is “yes.”
Jon Hale@JonHale_HL

NEW: In the ongoing quest for more revenue, UK/JMI is pursuing naming rights deals for Memorial Coliseum. More on what that could look like here, as well as some info on uniform sponsorships next season. kentucky.com/sports/college…?

@KySportsRadio The majority of fans know that Pope is not the answer and want him gone sooner than later. A lot of the responses show that. Even KSR has precipitated the angst pretty quickly. He was a darling just 6 months ago and now is the most despised coach in b-ball history.

Been off my phone for a couple of hours and saw the replies to Pope’s tweet. There is nonsense in the replies but there are also a lot of sincere, good questions from fans who care Hopefully someone filters those out and Pope answers them. If so, I think it can be helpful

@TJWalkerRadio He averaged 6 points a game over the last 19. BG played more minutes than MM in the 5 post season games.

I don’t think Malachi leaves, though it may be a little more tempting than some folks realize. But can you imagine how completely screwed UK would be if he did? That possibility has some people rightfully concerned. There is truly no path to even minimal success without Malachi. It’s something that has to be monitored, and nobody can really exhale until he’s officially back.

@BlugrassBall Moreno was pretty much unplayable the last month of the season. BG played more than him in post season. MM averaged 6.3 of last 19 games.

@KySportsRadio It was a blast. Didn’t have to get to the track super early like in past. It was super cool watching under the lights. Restaurants gouge the public like crazy Derby week with limited menus and exorbitant prices. There are 364 other days for them to be open.

Also the Kentucky Oaks had 2.4 million people watching in prime time, which is 4 times more than any Oaks in history So it will stay in Primetime forever I assume

Brandon Phillips was a great 2B on a mediocre team. Joe Morgan was an okay 2B on a great team. BP is easily the best 2B in Reds history.

Pretty obvious love for me. All of the resources available for Stokes and some of what you just saved on Donnie. Throw them together and get the best player available.

Pitino stealing Freeman from Pope would be diabolical move…but in the portal there is no loyalty For UK, getting neither Freeman or Rancik would be a huge fumble. Maybe they salvage it in another direction but the goal was to leave the weekend with one guaranteed

@MeManBoy0 The guy was left open all year long. If he were a 40 percent shooter he would have been a central figure of everyone’s scouts. But he wasn’t because teams left him open and dared him to continue to air ball 14 percent of his shots.

Something that drives me crazy about how fans evaluate shooters. Kam Williams shot 28-78 from three this year. That's 35.9%. The narrative: he's not a great shooter, question mark on his game, can he really space the floor at the next level. You know how many more threes he needed to make to be at 41%? Four. Four made threes over the course of an entire season is the difference between being labeled a guy who "isn't elite" and being called an elite floor spacer. That's one extra make every 6 games. A shooter's bounce. A rim that rims in instead of out. A night where the ball just falls. This is the thing fans almost never account for when they're torching a player's shooting reputation on a message board. The difference between a 36% shooter and a 41% shooter on that mid-volume is not some massive talent gap. It's variance. It's sample size. It's the randomness that lives inside every shooting percentage at the college level. And yet the perception gap between those two numbers is enormous. One guy gets questioned. The other gets coveted by every high major fan in the country. Same player. Four shots. Be careful how quickly you bury a shooter based on a percentage. The margin is almost always smaller than you think. #BBN

@MeManBoy0 @ChadTerrell20 If you scouted the games you would see out of his 50 misses 11 were air balls. His misses were more off than any player in UK history. He even banked in 4 of his 28 makes. Obviously you must have missed the 11 airballs and 4 banked makes

If Pope misses out on all his top targets, people have a right to be frustrated But can we let that happen before everyone freaks out? There is no news yet on my end

@WildcatSportsTK We aren’t really cooking even if we get Stokes and Wright. We have to replace our top 2 in Oweh and Aberdeen just to be equal to last year and now need to find a replacement for Chandler our third best.

I’m told Rob Wright is a lock. Could get his commitment today. Lots going on behind the Scenes with Stokes. I think he prefers Kansas. But Really likes Kentucky. Money and Nike could be the difference. Freeman is likely a whiff. If you can lock 2 down. We are cooking!
