@avanova96 @DiscussingFilm My point is that they have many stories from the franchise that they could've adopted. RE 4 would be the best in my opinion. But they keep going new. For what? What made The Last of Us so successful was they made a direct copy of the gaming story. They should take notes.

Every game is a new story, the movie is just a continuation of the lore. If the zombies are good and game accurate then its all good lol

@DiscussingFilm This isn't Resident Evil. This is a zombie movie adopting the Resident Evil title. You can't make all new characters and a story then slap the Resident Evil name on it and say it's Resident Evil.

Just do right by the story the game creators made and bring their story to life! RE has plenty to tell, but they failed to adopt any of the true game storylines.

@MildredPierce_ @DiscussingFilm If Red Dead Redemption was made into a movie, fans would be pissed if they just adopted the name and ignored the great story that was told. Same with Pokémon, Zelda, and so on. Why was The Last of Us so successful? Because it was a direct copy of the game.

@MildredPierce_ @DiscussingFilm Because when has a video game movie ever been a direct mimic of the game? Few, if none! Resident Evil has plenty of stories they could've told to bring excitement back to the franchise that hasn't been well received, and they continue to make the same mistakes.

What I've realized after making this viral comment is this... 1) Resident Evil fans are trying to be logical like I am with agreeing that if this is a different story with new characters, why not name it something original? Or 2) The "fans" cuss you out and love this...

@FallenPr1ncess 1 spinoff game out of how many stories that they told? Plus, there was a 29 YEAR TIME GAP between the 1st ever game to the release of Tri Force Heroes. It doesn't hurt to make something fresh. The new Resident Evil film could've adopted the Resident Evil 4 story and made bank.

But if the makers of the film was that confident in the zombie story that they have to tell, then did they really need the "Resident Evil" title to sell tickets?
