I'm guessing the more aggressive a tern is at defending its territory, the more successful it is in raising its young to adulthood...just a theory. There's always 1 or 2 terns that are relentless as we walk past their territory.

@TongueToad @Rick3337723241 @LRSerling leaf cutter ants farm fungi! they take the leaves that they cut back to their nest and instead of eating it directly, they give it to a special type of fungi (Leucoagaricus gongylophorus) that only grows in ant nests. once the fungus grows, they eat that instead
