@hewantswealth This is absolutely terrible for businesses. And is going to impact minorities more than anyone else. Now black/trans/gay/disabled people looking for work are going to be much more heavily scrutinised during interviews, and less likely to be offered positions.

As a people leader, it really irks me when I see people being dismissed. Behind everyone there is a story. People who have responsibilities back home, whether that’s a mortgage, kids, sick parents, going through divorce etc…if someone is underperforming, I personally see it as a failure on my part for not being able to bring the best out of you. But anyway, I digress…the 2 year rule is changing! From Jan 2027, unfair dismissal rights kick in after just 6 months (down from 2 years), so employees get legal protection MUCH sooner. That’s a win! And again, Leaders/Managers…have some compassion. Employees are human, not just numbers!
