FF/EMT Michael Altman of Truck Co. 47 was injured yesterday while fighting a residential fire in the Rogers Park neighborhood. Today, FF/EMT Altman succumbed to his injuries. We are asking for prayers for the entire Altman family & the CFD family during this trying time.

DOUGAL #84 End of Watch: March 4, 2026 It is with deep sorrow that the North Kingstown, RI Police Department announces the loss of Officer Brittany Dougal, who tragically died by suicide after battling mental illness. Officer Dougal graduated from the Rhode Island Municipal Police Training Academy, 145th Class (2025-II), on December 19, 2025. During her time at the academy, she earned the respect of the academy staff for her dedication and heart, graduating second academically in her class. Following her graduation, Officer Dougal was sworn in as a North Kingstown Police Officer on December 22, 2025, and began the Field Training Evaluation Program. In the short time she served with our department, her field training officers recognized her commitment and the promise of a successful career. Our department mourns this loss. Brittany’s passing is deeply felt by her family, friends, academy classmates, and all her brothers and sisters in law enforcement. MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS Behind every badge is a human being, and we must continue working to ensure that no officer feels they have to face mental health struggles alone. To our fellow officers and first responders: you are never alone, and reaching out for help is a sign of strength. If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. This lady ate a surface-to-air missile, sustained a 12-14 G rocket-propelled ejection, likely hit the ground at 15+ miles per hour… And then she popped up smiling at the locals who came to help her. Tell me again that women don’t belong in combat.

Melrose MA, Technical Rescue of an injured construction worker @ Greenwood & Franklin St @ 12:45pm. The worker was taken down from the 4th floor over the FD Ariel in a stokes basket. He was Transported to a local hospital in stable condition by Armstrong EMS.
