On this date in 2007, the Wilson Building's press room was re-dedicated to slain @WHURfm journalist Maurice Williams, who was killed during the 1977 siege of our building. Thanks to the Williams family, @SegravesNBC4, @WHURfm, and @ricebilldc for their work on that project.

Jose Argueta was told to go to a D.C. police station to pick up his stolen car. Instead of getting his car back, he was detained by ICE at the 5D station. My latest -- about two incidents that resurface questions about MPD's relationship with ICE: wapo.st/3OJh6Ek

UPDATE: i just shared this note with my colleagues: "To my incredible colleagues at CBS: I want to personally let you know that my work will soon no longer appear on CBS News. This is my decision, and I appreciate the bosses at CBS for understanding it. I will always value the opportunity I had to work alongside the talented and committed professionals here. I'm proud to have had the words 'CBS correspondent' next to my name - always will be. For the next phase of my career, I look forward to some independence and finding new spaces to share my work in line with my personal goals. I thank you all. The work will not stop, and I'll always be a call away"

NEWS: D.C. CFO Glen Lee has spoken! In a letter to @MayorBowser and D.C. Council, Lee says that tax-filing season *will continue* and that the council's decoupling bill is the law of the land.

This might be the first time that D.C.’s CFO has been directly protested. Someone sent me a photo of a @freedcproject_ flyer posted outside his office in the Wilson Building today.

The D.C. Council has been meeting behind closed doors for the last 30 minutes or so to discuss the ongoing decoupling drama. Today could be a critical day in terms of clarity on whether D.C. will continue to treat decoupling as the law of the land or not.

Secret meeting - DC Council Chair Mendelson just closed public breakfast meeting - to talk in private about biggest issue of the day - CFO’s decision to block spending $180 million (and more) because of a dispute w/congress over council decoupling some city taxes from federal.
