I wholeheartedly agree with Wang Feng’s suggestion and sentiment. Ben was my boss when I started at Reuters China as a budding news assistant. He mentored me like a father, sharing his extensive contacts and sources, and teaching me how to become a world-class journalist, and more importantly how to be a great person. Ben got the big scoop on Xi’s appointment as China’s next president but humbly shared the credit with all of us on the political and general news team. I’m just one of the many young reporters he mentored. Though I later moved to the team of TV and then financial TV, we’ve stayed in touch over the years. His depth, passion for journalism, and storytelling were exceptional. I am so Saddened by his passing, I hope we can honor his legacy.
