yeah so it looks like @socapinc is just running the "50 LPA" growth job posts from time to time to market their own agency. received a DM where a candidate was given a 2-3 days assignment and was then ghosted by the founder @VedikaBhaia after they received the assignment. insane that companies are working with such agencies. this shit needs to called out.

Accha listen, I don’t want to say this publicly but I have to say it. He has already wasted 1.5 months. If my recruitment team starts the process again today, that’s another 1-2 months gone. The role is urgent. So you think this guy did the right thing. Fair enough. Let me walk you through something first. Now you’re saying founders have no power and candidates have all the power. You’re assuming founders have no option. Hear me out.👇 If I really wanted to exercise power, I would ask the team to match the 36 LPA, ask him to join tomorrow, keep the hiring process running quietly, and replace him in 2-3 months once we find someone better. The new development wouldn’t stop. The team would keep moving. The cost difference for a couple of months is negligible. Do you know what the consequence would be? He might end up accepting an offer below 25 LPA. Because once he spends one or two months again in the market, desperation kicks in and people start accepting whatever comes. But listen, I don’t do these kinds of things. I’m not interested in playing that game. Just because someone chooses not to use their power doesn’t mean they don’t have it.

Interviewed a backend developer. Guy was at 21 LPA. We offered 28 LPA, roughly a 33 percent hike. He agreed and confirmed joining. Yesterday he emailed saying he got a 32 LPA offer elsewhere and now wants 36 LPA from us. Nonsense. Why agree in the first place. If you are still shopping offers just say it upfront. We stopped interviewing other candidates and waited through the notice period for the joining date. Now two days before joining, he came back with a new price tag.

That’s not true or fair. Indian students at Stanford do that out of valid concerns - many of them don’t want to eat food that may be in contact with beef which is a religious anathema to us. That’s why Whole Foods is a safer option. In many cases among Indians, the label Jain can also signify dietary preferences where onion & garlic is avoided.
