@23Pankovski What’s your view of Rogers in terms of both how you view him as a player and then specifically with regards to Chelsea? Trying to take price out of my thoughts but i’m still largely confused/underwhelmed by it

Bit of a breakdown on our current squad but I am liking the idea of what we’re trying to build because it finally looks to have a bit of plan in there. Granted, this would probably be my ideal XI.

@AndrewTurmer yeah but at £50m it’s not the end of the world if it didn’t work out plus we needed a forward.. this however? seems crazy to me. As you say, bigger priorities elsewhere and surely there isn’t enough in the coffers to repeat this

@CFCRobL If Alonso wants him then we have to back him. And the last player fans weren't universally over the moon about was...Joao Pedro. Can't help but feel a Van Dijk level CB or a world class left winger would do more for us though. Do we even know who's starting next to Colwill?!

@Statford_Bridge I think in this instance it just felt a bit more like being scared of a leak due to a single drip, putting down all your pots and pans and letting the leak materialise and worsen when you had the tools to address it earlier before it became full blown.

My argument is that when it’s pissing down rain and your roof is already leaking into your house, yes the optimal solution is to fix your roof, but sometimes you just gotta put out the pots and pans, collect the water, and ride out the storm.
𝚁𝚘𝚂𝚑𝚊𝚖𝙱𝚘@RoShamBo7

@Statford_Bridge Is your argument honestly 'England had no option but to play 7 defenders and hope that Messi forgets how to cross'? In these situations you need to keep bodies and passing lanes high enough to exit; remove all outlets and you guarantee that you'll remain under siege

@KerryCa69031147 @ArchieStanding Absolutely no pace on the pitch to exploit Argentina pushing forward with their CBs both on yellows. Kane way too deep which doesn’t work without runners beyond. Roger’s playing 90 is baffling, Kane/Bellingham completely bypassed and nothing to address pressure on crossers

@ArchieStanding How? Tuchel goes to a 3-4-3 with best CF itw, best AM itw, 100+m Rogers, best CM itw, 116m gbp CM, DJ spence playing the game of his life, Reece Hamstrings James. Do we think he told them "everyone sit in the box and apply no pressure on their midfield"?

@AndrewTurmer Yeah it was only going to go one way - I wouldn’t agree but I get trying to sit deep but when it’s very clearly not working, go back to what was

@CFCRobL 12% possession for England between Gordon's goal and Lautaro's winner. Argentina scored twice, hit the post twice and created chances at will as soon as Tuchel gave up and parked the bus. Late Chelsea, entire Bayern and now with England, Tuchel's decision making has been weird.

Devastated - completely and needlessly threw the game away with inexplicable cowardice. Was clear from the first 5 mins of sitting deep we were asking for trouble and never reacted, only doubled down. Just bizarre from a manager that ultimately is miles better than that

@FifteenCon @olijcarpenter On top of that, Argentina posed next to no threat when we were playing our game, yes they’d have thrown more forward after conceding but we didn’t have a single ounce of pace to capitalise, we showed more attacking intent vs Mexico with 10

@FifteenCon @olijcarpenter I think i fundamentally disagree with it ever working, they hit the post twice and Pickford had to pull off a couple of wonder saves, they had all the time in the world to pick a cross and were winning every header. Fine to try it, baffling to not adjust when it’s failing

If you want to sit deep, that’s one thing. but to have zero pace or threat up the otherside of the pitch is baffling, especially when you have the players to do so. Argentina offered more threat holding onto a lead with 1 min on the clock, let alone the 40 we did.

@FifteenCon @olijcarpenter but the game states and circumstances are wildly different, one was forced, one wasn’t. Attacking Mexico would have been suicide in that situation, ironically doing the opposite vs Argentina was the same

@CFCRobL @Statford_Bridge He literally didn’t do anything wrong here. He just told Bellingham that Tuchel criticized the shit overall performance, and Bellingham responded to that in a very inappropriate manner that made him sound like a toddler. He’s an adult who can take some responsibility.

fuck Gabriel Clarke - can't understand what Tuchel is saying, gets his ego hurt and goes immediately to stirring shit to players after one of the biggest wins of their careers English football media are forever a farce and will be the first to moan about 'discontent in the camp'

@BradleyDSharp11 It's institutional - they used to have absolute power over the national team, including collusion and threats to get rid of managers. Now their power is waning, it's just desperate attempts to influence and drive narratives. Vermin is the right word.

Gabriel Clarke is a disgrace by the way. His interviews were intentionally trying to cause friction in the camp. I don’t understand why the English media are so against the England team.

@Criss_Crossv2 @chelssufferer He was very, very highly rated in the academy scene before Chelsea signed him and he was very impressive in all of his appearances for the club, not sure where any counter narrative is coming from other than just not knowing about him (which is fine but don't question it)
