There's a certain irony in that whilst Klopp is a fantastic manager, giving him more control is ultimately what started to derail Liverpool and their success is largely down to his transfer desires being overruled.

If it was me, I’d rip up the model, approach Klopp, make him the highest paid manager in the world by some distance, give him whatever he wants on the footballing side & let him build a proper team again. That we could all get behind & would be a project deserving of patience

And that's the biggest risk of all, the players that we have in the 'ready to compete today' category will become disillusioned, want to leave, and in the current policy will just be replaced with more of those for tomorrow.

Agree with most of this and I'm largely surprised that the focus is on the manager as opposed to anything above him.
It's pointless, imo, judging and changing managers who are quite clearly working within obvious limitations, make fixes above then start to judge accordingly

It’s a real eye opener as to what happens when you start a second leg match three nil down and then concede in the first 5 mins against the reigning European champions… 7 days ago (and 195 mins ago) the same team were 2-2 and toe toe with PSG away from home after going to Villa and winning 4-1. Reality sits somewhere between the two extremes. As always imo. I get the outage and emotion and the manager situation is unnerving mainly because he’s made high profile mistakes front stage and centre - but some of the takes in the emotion regarding the club are wild as fuck imo. We need the international break and then it’s time for calm heads in next few months. -Sort the manager out either way - Tidy up the 6/7 players take need leave. - Show the senior players here that you’re committed to progress this summer by getting 2 new CB’s in (one needs to have huge leadership qualities imo) Right now, that’s what needs to happen. I’m not going into next season with JP, Estevao, Quenda, Cole, Caicedo, Enzo (maybe), Cucu and Reece in our starting line up and feeling like the world is ending ffs. 😅 We have a base - build on it intelligently rather than trying to convince me it’s completely shit 😅

@TheScore01 @owen_bush80 He's made some mistakes for sure but in the main, I think it's been largely net positive with the mistakes largely being over estimating the quality in depth.
If he can course correct and learn quickly, because there absolutely are positives, we're fine imo

I like him and think he’s a talented coach. But should he be managing Chelsea now? That’s up for debate.
I’ve seen people who never ask for a manager to be sacked, ever, say he needs to go.

@TheScore01 Yesterday has to be a wake up call with regards to the balance of quality now vs tomorrow and I dont particularly mean experience, rather the ability to compete at the top level consistently
PSG, and those ahead of us, have that - pointless looking to change LR until that's done

The whole tie summarises this iteration of Chelsea quite well, plenty of signs that this club can compete before shooting themselves in the foot and falling well short of the mark.
Lessons have to be learned, starting this weekend.
