Today I$rael tried to kill me in a targeted airstrike in southern Lebanon as I was reporting on was the targeting of bridges and the forced displacement of 1 million people, an ethnic cleansing operation on a larger scale than the Nakba
I have absolutely no doubt that this was deliberate. Despite claims there were no warnings ahead of the strike and no notifications sent to the Lebanese Army who allowed us to film
As we have seen in Gaza they want to silence journalists who document and report their war crimes
It is the western powers who provide political and military support for I$rael, arming it to the teeth to carry out genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing here in Lebanon. They are not simply complicit, but active participants and should be held accountable for their actions.
But if I$rael thinks today’s strike will silence us and keep us out of the field they are very, very mistaken

▪️Approximately 12,000 to 13,000 Palestinian children have been detained by Israeli forces between 2000 and 2023.
▪️It is estimated that there are between 500 and 1000 children held in Israeli military detention each year.
▪️Palestinian children in the Israeli military detention system face physical and emotional abuse for years, with four out of five (86%) of them being beaten, and 69% strip-searched.
▪️Nearly half (42%) are injured at the point of arrest, including gunshot wounds and broken bones.
▪️Some report violence of a sexual nature and some are transferred to court or between detention centres in small cages.
Save the Children and a partner organisation consulted 228 former child detainees from across the West Bank, detained from between one and 18 months, and found that most children are beaten, handcuffed and blindfolded during arrest.
▪️They are also interrogated at unknown locations without the presence of a caregiver, and are often deprived of food, water and sleep, or access to legal counsel, according to the research.
▪️The main alleged crime for these detentions is stone throwing, which can carry a 20-year sentence in prison for Palestinian children.
▪️The majority of children experienced appalling levels of physical and emotional abuse, including being beaten (86%), being threatened with harm (70%), and hit with sticks or guns (60%).
▪️Some children reported violence and abuse of a sexual nature, including being hit or touched on the genitals and 69% reported being strip searched.
▪️60% of children experienced solitary confinement with the length of time varying from one 1 day to as long as 48 days.
▪️Children were denied access to basic services, 70% said they suffered from hunger and 68% said they didn’t receive any healthcare.
▪️58% of children were denied visits or communication with their family while detained.
