@AnastasiaRousak Every teaching experience is very important and essential if you would like to be a lecturer. It will help you creating your portfolio for the fellowship of HEA which is now required by all universities in the UK and internationally recognised. So, yes, it is useful indeed.

Does anyone know whether guest lectures are good CV wise for PhD students? I was asked to deliver a few this year but obviously I have to prioritise things that will benefit me in terms of future employment

What do you think of this? Am I the only person who suffers from this? @AcademicChatter

I’ve been a researcher for over 20 years and a professor for over 10 years, and I still frequently answer questions with “I’m not sure, but I can look into that.” It’s okay to not have all of the answers. Nobody has all of the answers.

@Durham_RDP @supervisingPhDs Stop overthinking! You are no lt like others. Your PhD is different. Yes, you can take breaks. You’ll face ups and downs. Write when you want to, but when you do, don’t leave the page blank. Listen to your supervisors, their names will be on your thesis. It’s a learning process.

I’m thinking of running a 1 hour workshop for 1-2 yr PhD students entitled “10 ways to ruin your thesis” What should be in my top 10 #phdchat @supervisingPhDs
