@Ryan_Daigler Look up “Otrovert.” This space is more varied and nuanced than you would expect. Big Poppy syndrome, type of Narc abuse, level of self worth, self deliberation, et al. Nothing is as blanketed as you claim most of the time, but you are on the right side.

The term “dark empath” isn’t a real construct in psychology, and it’s ambiguous at best. What you’re describing is a person who’s learned to recognize manipulation, detach their empathy (if they ever actually had it) and enforce consequences. But it’s really just a trendy term that very likely was originally coined by a covert narcissist to describe themselves the way they want to be seen. Worth noting: terms like “dark empath” tend to benefit people who want to sound empathic without actually being constrained by empathy; dark triads. And this is what makes it a dangerous and irresponsible term. It creates a built-in loophole where a lack of empathy can be reframed as something intentional or even elevated, which invites the wrong kinds of people (covert narcissists and actual dark personalities) to adopt it as cover.
Ryan Daigler - Exposing Narcissistic Abuse 🚩🚩@Ryan_Daigler

PSA “Dark empath” is not a real term. There’s nothing dark about becoming aware of narcissistic abuse and learning how to detect and protect ourselves from abusive manipulative people. It’s a sloppy communication device that can be interpreted differently by different people and for that reason it’s also a dangerous communication device. We already have words to describe whatever it is this term is meant to describe. But this term only removes clarity from communication and distorts it with something “dark“ for some reason. Why must it be dark? And what does it have to do with empathy? Also, it completely gives me the feels of something a narcissist would’ve coined for their own manipulative reasons and I don’t trust the people who are trying to make it trendy for the sake of having a new term that is vulnerable (maybe by design) to subjective interpretation to play with. It’s toxic. Please don’t perpetuate this term. Thank you of your attention 🙏🏼

More like a conceited, well-rounded and unlimitedly capable, high IQ, badass who has become tired of being patient and has shredded his Big Poppy Syndrome after doing some shadow work in favor of embracing a controlled level of psycopathy. So, yeah, I can see why it seems that way.

@Ryan_Daigler Even more dangerous than an empath who is done is an empath who has also done the inner work. They will never attract or tolerate a narcissist again. Doing the inner work and loving yourself fully becomes a natural narcissist repellent.

I tried tonight to watch Top Gun Maverick. Things that I would enjoy more: 1) Grooming the beard of @ZohranKMamdani; 2) Giving @joebiden an oil massage; 3) Listening to Occasional Cortex @AOC explain her foreign policy views; 4) Visit Raqqa, Syria wearing a “I love Bibi” t-shirt; 5) Injecting Ebola into my eyeballs.

Covert narcissists have this really annoying ability to “misinterpret” what you say in such a way, to make it sound to others like you were saying something offensive or contentious. Yes they do this on purpose because they want you to waste your time trying to clarify yourself

Perhaps its the man who made me, With evil in his mind and eyes at the time that cause me to forge my first mask at an early age. The Jester. Filled with thoughts of 6. Harmony. I was only like 10. But anything seemed better than to continue to suffer without laugh. So I started laughing back and made him a broken record at that.

@Ryan_Daigler This is the most powerful distinction in the traumaverse: and remeber oh arrogant, conceited yet benign counterparts: you are a magnet to them and have the power of a psychopath to stop them cold.

“Narcissist” has become a lazy label. Someone can be arrogant, confident, blunt, or even difficult—and still not be a narcissist. Actual narcissism isn’t about surface traits. It’s a pattern. And most people are getting that distinction wrong. What gets mislabeled as narcisim: 1. Confidence Knowing your value without needing to put others beneath you. 2. Boundaries Saying “no,” limiting access, or refusing disrespect gets called selfish—but it’s self-respect. 3. Emotional reserve Not everyone expresses feelings openly. Privacy isn’t lack of empathy. 4. Ambition Drive and competitiveness can look like ego, but they don’t require exploiting others. 5. Neurodivergence Bluntness or missed social cues are often misread as self-centeredness. 6. Strong opinions Disagreeing or not backing down isn’t the same as needing to control reality. 7. Emotional reactivity Stress, trauma, or overwhelm can look intense—but it isn’t calculated manipulation. 8. Occasional selfishness Everyone has self-focused moments. Narcissism is a consistent pattern. 9. Charisma or attention Enjoying attention isn’t the same as needing to extract it from others. 10. Immaturity Some people are just emotionally underdeveloped—and capable of growth. The difference is simple, but uncomfortable: It’s not about how someone appears. It’s about how they consistently treat other people’s autonomy, boundaries, and reality.
