Robert is the strongest candidate Reform could have put forward. Makerfield born and raised, ex-army reservist and NHS technician, local councillor, *actually* a plumber, and won 32 percent of the vote in 2024 back before Reform were a national force. A smart pick not to parachute someone from HQ in to stand against Burnham. Reform swept Wigan at the local elections, so Rob has the strongest starting position of any of the candidates.
Reform UK@reformparty_uk

Makerfield was Andy Burnham’s back up plan. For Robert Kenyon, it’s his home. This battle will be David Vs Goliath.

The alternative would be trying to run the country with nobody who’s ever worked in government before. Like it or not, we need the experience from people who have had previous roles, and we can learn from their mistakes and ensure they're not repeated. Most Reform branches are grassroots, so by the next election, the majority of Reform parliamentary candidates likely won’t be career politicians.

Not necessarily true. If they have ILR and don't meet the new thresholds to stay, they'll have to leave. You can't undo decades of immigration failure over night. Radical policy won't get you a majority government - you'll only get pushback from the opposition and nothing will change.

@_EleanorJackson @reformparty_uk I hate to say it but your young in years and in my many decades of voting have found politicians very rarely do what they promise. So when you take half of a lying Tory cabinet and put them in top positions and have immigrants standing as candidates it should set off alarm bells.

The only person I now regard as controlled opposition is Rupert Lowe. He showed openness to joining the Tories after meeting with Jenrick and holds a seat on their Tory Committee. He never calls out Kemi Badenoch and has even admitted to having some kind of deal with the Tories. That's not being off my tits. It's very interesting facts.

“Why did Robert Kenyon delete all of his social media?” Like many ordinary people, Robert didn’t expect that one day he would be standing for parliament. He posted what he thought. It’s no surprise that we end up with generic and bland MPs when people are hounded over a post.

It’s either Reform UK or Labour Robert Kenyon vs Burnham. The local champion vs the careerist politician, in it for himself. Rupert Lowe wants to help Burnham which will be disastrous for Makerfield and the rest of us. See the truth👇
Jo@LaticsJosie

The truth about Restore in Makerfield. UK wide callout attracted 30 canvassers & organisers. Majority from out of town. Candidate Rebecca Shepherd a no show. Muted response on door with some hostility. Immigration discussed and push back at splitting the vote. Underwhelmed.

🚨 Reminder for Rupert Lowe supporters: Before cheering the "anti-establishment" businessman, remember his track record of **sinking businesses** — and his direct Tory ties. - **Southampton FC**: As chairman (1996-2006 & 2008-2009), Lowe presided over relegation from the Premier League in 2005. The club's holding company later went into **administration** in 2009 amid financial chaos. Fans widely blamed his leadership. - Digme Fitness: Lowe was a director alongside **Akshata Murty** (Rishi Sunak’s wife). The boutique gym chain collapsed in 2022–2023 after receiving up to £630,000 in taxpayer-funded furlough money — while owing creditors (including HMRC) around £6.1 million** in unpaid VAT and PAYE. Lowe called it a casualty of the pandemic. Lowe has longstanding links to the Tory world — former Conservative Party member until the 1990s, business partner with Sunak’s wife, and even rumoured interest in Tory roles post-Reform. If you're backing him to drain the swamp, ask why he keeps partnering with the same establishment figures whose policies he now attacks. Business failures happen, but patterns matter — especially when public money is involved. What do his fans think? Genuine outsider or just another insider with a new brand? #RupertLowe #RestoreBritain

There seems to be some confusion about what I said when I launched Restore Britain as a political party. I said we are going to offer the British people a genuine alternative. Finally. Providing men and women from outside the political establishment. A democratic route out. I said it. And I meant it. Not failed Tories wearing a turquoise rosette. But bringing in new and fresh faces who have no experience of driving our country into the dust. We did it in Great Yarmouth, in ten seats - putting forward those candidates. We won all ten. We decimated the competition. Now we are taking it national. Makerfield. They laughed when I said we’d win Great Yarmouth. We beat them all. I’m now saying the same about Makerfield. We are in this to win it.

Andy Burnham has: Called for Britain to take more Calais migrants. Opposes citizenship ban for those who arrived illegally. Consistently voted against tougher immigration enforcement as an MP. Andy Burnham will: Prioritise migrants over local people. Scrap plans to make people wait longer before getting permanent settlement. Oppose any tougher immigration rhetoric. Take Britain back into the EU and open the floodgates. Make the immigration crisis far worse. Vote @RestoreBritain_ to get your country back.

@NotabotQ17 That may or not be true Steve, I’m not arguing that. I’m saying that I want Burnham beaten and Reform are best placed to achieve that!

Let me make it clear. Restore Britain standing in Makerfield is self indulgent and stupid. Reform is best placed to defeat Burnham and destroy Labour. Let them get on with it.

You've got to love @ThatAlexWoman on @TalkTV because she had a brilliant rant aimed at Rupert Lowe this morning and I agree with every word she said. "What's your game man? You're not going to win anything. All you're doing is letting Labour in. Go back to your farm in Gloucestershire and retire". But we all know what his game really is. It's to scupper Nigel Farage. Because Lowe is an egotistical bitter man who only wants what's best for Rupert Lowe. And sod the rest of us.

@JaydenPalmer07 I suggest judging from the response at yesterday's rally its reform that should stand down. 10 out of 10 so far with no defeats. A pretty impressive start I think.

Makerfield should be a straight fight between Labour and Reform. If the right splits itself here and hands Labour a way out, it will be political malpractice. This seat is winnable. Act like it.
Rupert Lowe MP@RupertLowe10

Restore Britain will be standing a candidate in the Makerfield by-election. There is overwhelming demand from our local members to do so, and I entirely agree. Our campaign has already started, and we aim to win thousands and thousands of votes. More news very soon.
