my hyrulestory comic is the opposite extreme with zero dialogue. you can see words (hopefully) but never read them id like to think i could take a turn writing for sonic by now, but i'm very gunshy if the vibe i'm interested in is on brand tbh i need courage

as an artist, i consider this frequently & aim to incorporate this mentality into my 'personal' work ime, comics where writer=artist tend to be most effective or a duo, aware of ea other's strengths. that is not always realistic :( or possible one thing: you always do your best

The main problem with panels like this isn't just an IDW Sonic problem, but a huge problem with modern writing in general. The idea of silent moments that speak for themselves is becoming more and more rare. They act like there must be 24/7 dialogue to keep the reader engaged.

Okay I promise I'll stop going on about it now, but I genuinely cannot believe that my first ever Sonic cover got the foil treatment. I'm a foil nut and I am in shock and awe at the fact that I got foiled. LOOK AT IT. It's so cool. Two life goals achieved in one. I'm so lucky!
