@Richard_Autism @cassie_davies @Planet_Autism @milton_damian Yes, just like they grow out of autism 🙄😒 feel free to check all you like, just stop trying to prevent people from using PDA as a label until you've done that research because it is literally saving lives
English

@Richard_Autism @cassie_davies @Planet_Autism @milton_damian I'm not and will unlikely ever be responding to planet autism, I'm only responding to you. I'm talking about seeing the behaviour and strategies in action, actual first hand evidence, not just asking the parents. Proper research requires first hand evidence, not blog post reading
English

@Richard_Autism @cassie_davies @Planet_Autism @milton_damian If you don't see it despite it being pointed out numerous times by several people then I can't help you. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Why not visit actual families and see the difference for yourself

And for those who say they don’t follow his practices anymore. They do.

@Richard_Autism @cassie_davies @Aspergreatness @Planet_Autism @autismotherland @milton_damian Except that's the issue, you can't get support with the label, even many schools won't adapt their teaching without a label. Saying people should be accommodated without a label doesn't mean they will be, and refusing a label on those grounds only hurts the child

Exactly, hiding your difficulties with certain situations and hiding your usual coping behaviours is not 'coping with autism' twitter.com/ASCSocialWorke…
English

@Richard_Autism @cassie_davies @Planet_Autism @milton_damian ABA on the other hand is about forcing autistics to do things in order to make others happier or their lives easier, with no regard for the autistic. PDA strategies are about making it easier for PDAers to cope with essential things in life, not unnecessary social norms
English

@Richard_Autism @cassie_davies @Planet_Autism @milton_damian We reduce unnecessary societal demands such as eating at the table, making eye contact, waiting in line, replying to strangers, wearing clothes at home ect. All those things people do just because, not for any real reason
