What’s a position on Meteora ?
A position on Meteora is defined by the number of bins and the bin step, which together determine your range.
Ok, let’s break it piece by piece to understand :
What is a bin ?
A bin(1⃣) is a small fixed range with a fixed price that holds liquidity. Like a glass of a specific size
What is bin step ?
Bin step(2⃣) represents the price difference between two bins. 100 bin step = 1% price difference. Think of it as the distance between two glasses.
What is my range ?
A range is the section between two price points where your liquidity is active.
The range(3⃣) will be defined by the numbers of bins and the bin step. More bins = wider range.
But that’s not all !
Remember 100 bin steps = 1% difference which means higher bin step = bigger range. If the distance between two glasses increases the overall distance will proportionally increase too.
Why choose higher bin steps? Because a position is limited to 69 bins, so a larger bin step gives you a wider range within that limit.
