The @PentictonVees begin a difficult @TheWHL road trip on Friday in Brandon, the 1st of 6 away games in 9 days. Equally as difficult is the bus trip from Penticton, BC to Brandon, MB, which is 1,785 kilometers and nearly 20 hours. Shout out to the players and staff making that loooooong bus ride. And kudos to 2008 D Sean Burick. Not only is he playing in tonight's #WHLProspectsGame, but it looks like the big guy has earned himself a plane ticket from Vancouver to Brandon. I'm guessing, @RileyPollock21, there is a lot more room in the aisle without Burick's long frame stretched out on the floor catching some zzz's?

While the @PentictonVees are tied with Everett for most wins by an expansion team, the Vees definitely were not treated evenly by @TheWHL when it came to expansion rules: 1. Number of Overage Players Everett 5 ✅ Penticton 4 ❌ 2. Overall selection position in WHL Prospects Draft Everett 3rd in 1st round; 1st in following rounds ✅ Penticton 4th in all rounds ❌ 3. Expansion Draft Age Restrictions Everett None ✅ Penticton No 2009s (16-year-olds) ❌ The impact of No. 2 and No. 3 won't be known for several years, but the WHL seemingly penalized Penticton for the expansion success of Everett 22 years ago. On the bright side, the Vees have been very successful with player evaluation, and they will need to continue to lean on their top-notch scouting staff to help fill a gaping 2009 hole on their depth chart.
