@RiotRMD @DestinyTheGame I feel a level of sadness as well, but is the game really "ending"? It's not going anywhere. We can still play in clans, do raids and dungeons, high level nightfalls, replay the campaigns - it's all still there. Again, I respect this is hitting some people harder than others.

I just looked at videos I had captured of @DestinyTheGame on my PS5. Like 160 gigabytes of it. I’m so depressed about my hobby ending, even if I can probably now start reading more books etc. Been with the game since the D1 alpha and even prior to that I had played a version years before that.

I see a lot of people signing a petition for D3, but If you want a Destiny 3, log on June 9th and play the fuck out of Monument of Triumph. I can assure you that whatever numbers that update pulls will be looked at very closely. Make the Destiny franchise undeniable.

At its best, content was a machine to create memories and friendships. No new content stings. This pain is about losing a place where so many memories were made. It stings not because of what it was, but the realization of what it won't be.

I want to give my sincerest thank you to all of the devs who did everything in their power to get the game into as good of a state as possible with this final update. I take solace in the knowledge that no matter how much time passes, there will be something fun to return to ❤️

@RiotRMD Going to be such a weird feeling to log in when that June update drops. There’s been some lows but at its best Destiny is everything the best of videogames embodies, community, mystery, friendships, emotions. Nothing can replace it

Going down memory lane.

I have almost all the @DestinyTheGame seasonal, raid, dungeon and other pins. I loved how Bungie enabled this type of merch and tie it so closely to the stuff you achieved in game. @Destiny2Team (yes I know the raid rings aren’t placed in the correct order).

I had plenty of tears yesterday.

Just want to say thank you to all of you for trusting me to give you your builds. Its such a simple and seemingly inconsequential thing in the grand scheme of it all, but it gave me so much fulfillment and purpose alongside the distinct pleasure of being able to meet all of you.

I dont think so, at least not made in the US. It wasn't even when they started it, but Activision had enough belief and foresight to put so much money into it and I'm eternally grateful they did. Why do you think so many similair games have been cancelled before they were released? To be at that AAA level and have the amount of completely unrealistic content players expect, the cost of entry is hundreds of millions easily.

@RiotRMD As someone within the industry, do you think a game like Destiny (MMO/MMO lite) is even feasible now with how expensive development has become? It is for this reason that I don't even think another Destiny will come, unless AI or some other cost saving method is used.

Having known many of the key D2 devs, it’s been tiring to read over the years how much shit Bungie management got. Its never that clear cut. What Destiny 2 has done won’t be repeated, this was a ground breaking game that Activision bankrolled in a crazy way and kudos for that. Never was it possible to upkeep the kind of game D1 and early D2 were - way, way too expensive. Small miracle it lasted this long.

Not going anywhere until the servers stop paying for themselves, and even then I’ll keep them up and running as long as I can afford it. The community has been so good to me over the years that even if it’s over I want to be around for those that keep playing.

@MacticsG1 Where do you get the budget for it ? Then the budget to keep it going? When live service games are going downhill? Betting another 300-400 million usd, just development costs, on something that isnt sure...

Maybe im just stupid but destiny 3 seems like such a clear and obvious choice and it infuriates me that whoever is calling the shots seems ok with letting the destiny IP just fade away into nothing

very emotional day. i will still be covering the update like any other major update. but after i'm done, the destiny channel will go idle (besides any archival footage i upload). just gonna leave it as its own thing. we'll chat soon about post-destiny plans, but i'm not done.

@RiotRMD makes me extremely happy reading and knowing that folks at remedy, who makes absolute bangers of games, love destiny. I know about Clay Murphy loving the lore of the game, and seeing you talking about how much Destiny is great just makes me super happy.

I took a week off from work, it was almost encouraged at Remedy, because Remedy is awesome like that, for each D2 expansion. So glorious, I was grinding like 14 hours day. Some of the best times ever.
