Shopify hasn’t been “just an ecommerce platform” in a long time. It’s the system of record for modern commerce. Where the entire business runs. Payments. Inventory. Capital. Shipping. Marketing. Data. Commerce keeps expanding to new surfaces. Online. Offline. Social. AI agents. What matters most is the system behind them. That system is @Shopify.

@litecoin There is a lot more human slop out there than there is A.i. slop. The difference is A.i. is getting better every day. Humans seem to be moving in reverse.

Call me old fashioned but, real people and real conversations are more gooder than AI slop. Just like real cryptos that solve real problems are gooderer than cryptos that only operate on hype.

It is hard to communicate how much programming has changed due to AI in the last 2 months: not gradually and over time in the "progress as usual" way, but specifically this last December. There are a number of asterisks but imo coding agents basically didn’t work before December and basically work since - the models have significantly higher quality, long-term coherence and tenacity and they can power through large and long tasks, well past enough that it is extremely disruptive to the default programming workflow. Just to give an example, over the weekend I was building a local video analysis dashboard for the cameras of my home so I wrote: “Here is the local IP and username/password of my DGX Spark. Log in, set up ssh keys, set up vLLM, download and bench Qwen3-VL, set up a server endpoint to inference videos, a basic web ui dashboard, test everything, set it up with systemd, record memory notes for yourself and write up a markdown report for me”. The agent went off for ~30 minutes, ran into multiple issues, researched solutions online, resolved them one by one, wrote the code, tested it, debugged it, set up the services, and came back with the report and it was just done. I didn’t touch anything. All of this could easily have been a weekend project just 3 months ago but today it’s something you kick off and forget about for 30 minutes. As a result, programming is becoming unrecognizable. You’re not typing computer code into an editor like the way things were since computers were invented, that era is over. You're spinning up AI agents, giving them tasks *in English* and managing and reviewing their work in parallel. The biggest prize is in figuring out how you can keep ascending the layers of abstraction to set up long-running orchestrator Claws with all of the right tools, memory and instructions that productively manage multiple parallel Code instances for you. The leverage achievable via top tier "agentic engineering" feels very high right now. It’s not perfect, it needs high-level direction, judgement, taste, oversight, iteration and hints and ideas. It works a lot better in some scenarios than others (e.g. especially for tasks that are well-specified and where you can verify/test functionality). The key is to build intuition to decompose the task just right to hand off the parts that work and help out around the edges. But imo, this is nowhere near "business as usual" time in software.

@RipperFromYT @OpenAI Respectfully disagree. The ad is about what it feels like to make things. Codex is just a tool to help you do that. The ad makes the right point IMO, and I believe will resonate with all the builders who see it.

@TheHumanoidHub To anyone that reads this just remember Tesla is sourcing all of it's Optimus 3 parts from China instead of the USA or other countries. Not a good look for the "America first" agenda he has embedded himself inside of so heavily.

Elon says China's an Ass-kicker-next-level Question on Q4 earnings call: "There's a surge of Chinese companies humanoids; what is Tesla's long-term competitive advantage?" Elon: "By far, the biggest competition for humanoid robots will be from China. China is good at manufacturing, and also in AI, judging from open models. To the best of my knowledge, we don't see significant competition outside of China. People outside of China underestimate China, but China's an ass-kicker next-level. We think we will be more capable than any robot under development in China. We'll be ahead in real-world intelligence and the electromechanical dexterity of the hand design. There are three hardest things for humanoid robots: - the hand - real-world AI - and scaling production Tesla is the only company that has all three of those components."
The Humanoid Hub@TheHumanoidHub

Huge! Elon on Q4 2025 earnings call: - Tesla will stop making Model S & X in Q2 of this year. We are going to convert that production space into an Optimus line (1 million/year). - Everything in the supply chain is new, so the S-curve for manufacturing Optimus will be longer.

@TheHumanoidHub Tesla literally just announced their (Chinese) suppliers recently meaning they don't even have prototypes yet to know if V.3 works or not. His timelines have been and continue to be a joke. If it wasn't for the advancements in AI by OTHER companies FSD still wouldnt work.

So Nigeria is one of @CoinGatecom 's leading countries using Crypto. $JMIA / Jumia (e-commerce) is showing strong signs of growth in Nigeria. This seems like the type of market/partnerships to go after for real use adoption of Litecoin @LTCFoundation #thebetterbitcoin
CoinGate@CoinGatecom

4/7 Crypto payments remained global. The US led the country rankings, the Netherlands moved into the top three, and Nigeria stayed among the most active markets. By continent, Europe accounted for the largest share of payments, followed by North America, Asia, Africa and South America.

@tobi As big as Shopify is as Canadian company and as much as Shopify will be relying on AI/data centers for inference in the future I'm surprised you guys haven't started/announced plans to build your own yet. 20 years out I bet you will wish you did.

Remember this the next time people gaslight you with anti data center crap. Speaking of gaslighting: Canada flares off 7 GW of natural gas as a waste product of mining each year- more power than all the LLM training clusters use combined. Let’s build data centers in Alberta.
David Sacks@DavidSacks

Narrative violation: The largest AI data center uses roughly the same amount of water as two burger joints. There are over 200,000 fast food restaurants in the U.S. so this is a tiny amount.

One of the biggest robotics exits in recent years. A Canadian company you’ve probably never heard of. In 2023, Clearpath Robotics, the team behind OTTO Motors, was acquired by Rockwell Automation for nearly $600M. But their story starts way before AMRs and factories. 🧵 This is the real story.

Shopify is building the foundation for agent driven commerce. Tools for high agency merchants. Trust built in. Scale by default. As shopping moves from search to agents, the platform that empowers entrepreneurs wins. Shopify is leading that future.
Fast Company@FastCompany

Next year, you'll likely rely more and more on AI to help you with your shopping decisions. And it won't be long before we entrust an AI agent to actually make purchases on our behalf. f-st.co/WJId3lc
