Biography of @ex_mortal_ I’m an analog glitch and sound artist from Florida, working primarily with hardware machines to create video glitch. I got my start in visuals digitally in 2013, creating digital glitches to go with music videos. In 2015 I discovered analog glitch devices and modular video synthesis, and also some amazing online groups for those things. That’s where my current path really started. By 2016 I was doing live visuals in small clubs around Florida, bringing out all my TVs, vhs cameras and video gear. Most of those shows were pretty experimental so I could just play around with equipment and set cameras up in the room to get glitchy signals on the walls of clubs, buildings and digital screens in clubs. That’s how I learned how difficult it can be to work with analog devices in a digital world. It was a lot of trial and error, and learning things in wonderful moments of chaos. Those were amazing days and I’ll always remember them as some of the best of my life… but things were about to change. When Covid hit, it ended all that, and I was left with a pile of gear in my studio, and nothing much to do with it. But I continued to play with it and experiment, sharing my creations on social media. Somewhere in that time, around 2021, a friend (Sky Goodman) introduced me to hic et nunc. I didn’t know anything about crypto, but I saw this as something that had a lot of potential … A new way to sell music and art, so I decided to give it a try. Over the past few years I’ve learned that I very much enjoy working with my equipment in a studio, and more of a controlled environment, and I continue to release glitches art on objkt and superrare.
