The absolute madness of the UK… People claiming benefits with 3 children can water their gardens with a hosepipe …. But working families supporting those on benefits are banned! and can get a £1000 fine if they do. Seriously … what is the point in working?

I am married with a young daughter, both myself and my husband work. -We are not entitled to housing benefit, or any other benefit for that matter. -We do not get free eye tests, free dental care or free prescriptions. -Our daughter is not entitled to free school meals, or free breakfast clubs, or free wrap around care, no help with her uniform. -We don’t get council tax discount, or any other discount. -We don’t get help with our energy bills, or low cost broadband. -We don’t get help with the cost of going to the cinema, or days out at theme parks. -My daughter is unable to play outside unsupervised, because you have failed to secure our borders and the streets aren’t safe. -If I work more hours, I fall into the higher tax band. Horrible post by former Labour councillor and former Lord Mayor Steve Wilson. He remains an honorary alderman, attends civic events, and continues to be associated with Hull City Council. Reform Cllr’s will be writing to the Lord Mayor’s Office to ask what action can be taken. Whatever your politics, gloating over someone’s murder or celebrating their death is completely unacceptable. Anyone representing the city in any civic capacity should be held to a higher standard. Political disagreement is not a licence to dehumanise people or make light of violence.

Dale Vince donated £5 million to the Labour Party. His energy companies then received £123 million in subsidies. Funny that isn’t it!? I don’t remember Sky News camping outside his or his family’s house.

John Swinney is doing everything he can not to implement what was so clearly set out in the @ForWomenScot Supreme Court ruling. He now says he wants to consult on a ‘domestic approach’ when it comes to implementing the EHRC’s guidance. He should know he cannot simply pick and choose which parts of the guidance he likes and does not like. Instead of listening to radical trans activists he should start listening to women.
