@librarythingtim I love voiting in person, and am priveleged enough to be able to do it. For everyone, in my mind, that would require a national paid holiday, free and ample transportation, perhaps childcare. Anything else is elitist, and has the same problems that caucuses have always had.

My most conservative opinion is that I want absentee voting to be possible, but not encouraged. Voting together on election day is a precious, solemn and joyful fact and demonstration of democracy. Doing it by mail feels like… ohh, IDK… marrying someone by mail?

Narratives matter. Consistency of truth matters.

My younger son (12) isn't much of a reader. He craves Roblox, Youtube Shorts, Fortnite, anything but a book. So I gave him the most brutally addictive novel I could think of, ENDER'S GAME ... and it's working. I think. But I can't think what to give him next. Suggestions?
