The Venezuelan govt is not something America should tolerate …this is America sphere of influence I think Trump can get popular acclaim now and broad bipartisan support toppling this hostile regime and having a plausible locally beneficent option friendly to USA put in place.

I went to a central bankers’ economic conference in May. I was shocked by the arrogance (dollar must remain the hegemonic currency), ignorance (zero awareness RMB had overtaken EUR as a trade currency), sycophancy (‘You can’t say that to the Fed’), and lack of diversity (only 3 Asians there from the BIS).
The group think was impenetrable.

As bad and oversold as these long-duration Treasuries looked a year and a half ago, they have fallen out of bed even harder since. Imagine a 60% drawdown on Treasuries. Remarkable.
