I have officially been scammed of ₦200,000 in this Tinubu economy, and the painful part is that the scammer is my own friend.
Two months ago, one of my guys announced that he was getting married, and as good brothers and members of the “Committee of Friends,” we all gathered ourselves to support him. You know how these things go; once your friend says “I’m getting married,” your account balance automatically enters fasting and prayer.
Out of love and support, I sent him ₦100k first. Later, when I realized I might not even attend the wedding because of another engagement, I called him personally and said, “My brother, since I won’t be there to spray money, let me send the spraying money in advance.” Brethren… I added another ₦100k.
A full ₦200,000. My hard earned money.
Now here is where the plot twist entered like a Nollywood season finale.
I just heard through the grapevine that my brother is no longer interested in the marriage. Just barely two months after the wedding. As I’m typing this, the wife is no longer living with him.
At this point, I have questions.
What exactly happened between “Till death do us part” and “Please pack your things and go”? Because the math is not mathing.
Honestly, I am preparing to visit his house because this issue now concerns me financially and emotionally. You cannot collect my ₦200k under the umbrella of everlasting love and then close the office after two months.
Either:
1. They explain properly why the marriage crashed at record speed,
OR
2. They refund my investment. Yes it's an investment.
Because at this point, I did not support a wedding. I unknowingly sponsored a short-term relationship program.
This is why I keep telling people: if you are not ready, don’t rush into marriage because society is pressuring you. Marriage is not Moimoi. It is not something you rush into because everybody around you is doing it.
In fact, marriage is like a confraternity. You will never truly know what is inside until you enter.
Anyway, my lawyer has already been informed. We are monitoring the situation closely.
Justice must prevail. My ₦200k did not fall from heaven.
God forbid BAT thing o. In this Tinubu economy? Mbanu.

Omor i just woke up now and realised that to fill 50 litres of a Corolla car during President Obasanjo's regime cost ₦3,750. During Yar'Adua's time, it became ₦3,250. During Goodluck Jonathan's time, it was ₦4,350. During Buhari's regime, it was ₦11,900. Now under the current President Tinubu's regime, to fill 50 litres of a Corolla car is now ₦61,350, and you tell me this man is the hope Nigerians should have for a better future? How d/mb can some of you supporters of tifinubu be?

If you're true to yourself and understand how the economy works, I believe you'd have a different opinion. If those Govts you quoted had made the hard but right decisions, we would have been much better off now!
Simple question, how would you have funded fuel subsidy & how would Dangote Refinery have survived? Let's engage pls
