Riverside Education

This week out students got to visit Genesis Radio to share their music, thoughts and poems with their listeners. It was great for the students to raise awareness about what we do at Riverside and get involved in amazing opportunities to help grow their confidence and to have fun!

Last Friday we had a group of our students help a member of the community with their house waste and garden. These amazing students worked so hard and we are so proud they are from Riverside

Last week we had an amazing sports day organised by the staff at Riverside. It took place at Star City and the students took part in all sorts of fun sports. The teacher vs students football was by far the favourite of the day!

We had the incredible opportunity to host the Army Engagement Team at Riverside. They led an active day of leadership based tasks to encourage the students to work together. Many students found themselves looking into how they could have a career in the Army which is amazing!

At Riverside we believe rewarding our students shows our appreciation for their constant hard work. On Wednesday, we took them on a trip to Drayton manor to celebrate their hard work this year. Students and staff had a lot of fun! Thank you @draytonmanor for a great day!

On the 20th of May, Riverside Education teamed up with the community to help cleaning up at Happyfields Animal Sanctuary. It was a day full of fun and hard work for a good cause! #animals #farm #school #education #fun

On the 17th of April 2023, the Riverside family was plunged in mourning after the sudden death of Mr Earl Thompson at the schools farm. His funeral will be held on Friday the 19th. The school will be closed on this date, except for those with exams.

Thank you to @networkrail for joining us for our assembly yesterday. Our students learnt about the dangers of trains and railways and how to keep yourself safe when using them.

Last week some of our students watched The Army Foundation College Harrogate live assembly. They got to hear from AFC students directly which opened their minds to the kind of careers they could build and inspired them to develop new skills and self confidence.

Some of our GCSE Art students visited Herbert Art Gallery and Museum in Coventry recently to look at the different types of art they have on display. This trip inspired our students to try something new and open their minds to the different types of art that is out there.

Our school offers bespoke alternative education to young people aged 14-19 with a wide range of complex neurological and psychological difficulties.
