Uber isn't buying into Rivian's current autonomy. They're investing in what that platform becomes once the R2 launches with gen-three hardware early next year. The flywheel hasn't even started spinning yet.

A friend just got his Waymo invite for Orlando along with a $10 coupon.
Here's the current Orlando Waymo mapped area.
It includes Universal Studios but not Disney, not the airport, not downtown...and not our houses either.

@RivianTrackr I don’t care for robotaxies or FSD honestly. So I’m like 🫤. I live in the now “today moment” not promises for the future. @TravisKetchum has spoken about this many times. Don’t buy a product today because of future promises.

@RivianTrackr Had a guy swear to me yesterday that Rivians are self driving like Teslas.
I love Rivian(R1S is my current favorite electric suv). I love options for customers. But it’s gonna be hard to achieve this.

NEWS: Tesla is Robotaxi service testing in Orlando, Florida.
Multiple new Model Ys with rear camera washers and Texas manufacturer license plates have been spotted at the Tesla Lee Vista Blvd store in Orlando. Only the Model Y Robotaxis in Austin have had rear camera washers.
Tesla said on its Q4 earnings call that Orlando was one of the 7 planned metro areas that would see robotaxi coverage in the first half of 2026.
