It really has to suck if/when the realization hits that at no point did the US ever face more than 30% of the Axis at any time.
In Europe they faced roughly 25% of the German Army and co and in the Pacific they may have only seen 20% of the Japanese Military.
The Pacific was already brutal beyond imagination, lets just throw the entire Japanese military and focus in the Pacific against the US with no help from any of the Allies.
It's sobering reality the reason American, British and French casualties are so low is because the Soviets and Chinese bore the brunt of the casualties, I don't even want to think about what the US casualties would be in these scenarios.
