Code repo in the comments. Where do you see automation in music heading?

I’m thrilled to announce that our paper: “Exploring trends in audio mixes and masters: Insights from a dataset analysis” has been accepted for publication at the upcoming @AES in New York! 🎉 Our research dives deep into the world of audio production, analyzing over 218,109 tracks from our Mix Check Studio platform. We focused on key audio metrics and aesthetic considerations in both mixed and mastered audio, spanning across 30 different music genres. Here are some of the key findings: * Loudness and Dynamics Issues: These are the most common challenges we observed, especially in mastered audio. * Compression: Mastered audio generally shows better results in compression than mixed audio. * Stereo Field and Phase Issues: Mastered tracks tend to have fewer stereo field and phase issues compared to mixed tracks. Our goal with this research is to help amateur music producers elevate their work and make informed decisions before releasing their music. I’ll be giving a talk at AES where I’ll dive into our findings and discuss how they can contribute to improving the quality of music production. A huge thank you to my co-authors for their invaluable contributions: @AngelikMourgela, @elio_elioo, @SpyrosBissas and @JoshuaReiss , as well as the rest of the @roexaudio team. If you’re attending AES, I’d love to connect and discuss this further. See you in New York! 🎧 ✨
