Soybean inspections rose to nearly 1 million metric tons last week as China continued to make room for additional cargoes ahead of a likely trade agreement with the United States.

Total grain inspections during the week ending Feb. 5 rose above 3 million metric tons despite a modest decline in soybean inspections, which nevertheless remained above 1 million MT and fell within the range of analyst expectations. Soybean cargoes were inspected for shipment from the US Gulf to China.
