It’s easy to look at someone else’s success and feel miles away from where you want to be. But stop fixating on the summit - no one gets there in one leap. In all my years in business, I’ve never found a silver bullet or quick fix. Everything I do seems to be hard work ! However, achievements come down to hard work and consistency. There’s been far too much negativity floating around lately, and it’s all too easy to get caught up in it. Right now, more than ever, it’s worth putting the phone down and noticing the good things right in front of you - a friendly smile from the shop assistant or a nice chat with a colleague. Gratitude is a skill in itself. If we don’t take a moment to recognise how far we’ve come and what we’ve achieved, it’s easy to lose sight of what really matters. There’s always something to be thankful for if you pay attention to the details. As we head into the weekend, take a moment to breathe and focus on the positives. Make sure you always focus on your customer, not just your product. It’s so easy to get caught up in making your product perfect, but the real game changer is knowing what your customer needs, and being prepared to pivot when it changes. Listen to their feedback, watch how they use what you offer, and ask what would make their life easier. You and your business must make job number 1 to solve their problem and if you find success in this, the sales will follow naturally. Happy customers are your best marketing.
