@TinCup2020 @RicFlairNatrBoy @JohnCena @CodyRhodes I find Cody pretty underwhelming, but they did him no favors with this title run. Four KO matches, three AJ matches. Never a credible threat to take his title. The face shouldn't be the massive favorite every time.

No doubt, it is risky. The fans have turned on Cody in WWE like they turned on him in AEW all because Cody is now the victim of a long-awaited John Cena heel turn. He's collateral damage in this. Now they're going to have deal with fans who are booing babyfaces again. It makes it almost impossible to write storylines that make sense because you can't tell how the crowd is going to react and you can't have all heels either. This is why HHH was right when he said "Just be fans, not critics." Just watch the show, boo the heels, and cheer the faces. That's how it's supposed to work.

@TinCup2020 @RicFlairNatrBoy @JohnCena @CodyRhodes I think that's why they loaded night two with their stronger matches because they were giving a dud for the main. It's kinda sacrilege to sabotage a Mania main, but I could make the case that it shows commitment to the story. Risky for sure, wonder where it goes from here

I can appreciate all that. But it was the wrong spot for a main event WM match. If he were doing that on weekly tv, I'd get that and I'd be more inclined to play along. He could have said, "I won't give my all until I get paid. This abusive relationship ends and I do what I want, when the money is right! And you know what? The main event of WM sounds like the right time and place to GET PAID!" Then they could have even had him squash Cody, leave him laying, and then have Cody sit in the ring like Cody sat on the ramp years ago after another WM loss. Would have been a great callback and then Cody begin s to question himself and how he approaches the business.

No Rock because the fans wanted to see him and "you get nothing" I think it was a troll match designed to anger the fans

That's not a nasty heel maneuver, but it is a boring, antiquated move. And a WWE employee calling the match a clunker? It was bad by design.

Terrible match. Not because of the outcome, because I think Cena winning is best for Cody long term. But the match itself was very underwhelming. I expected some schmoz finish, but overall, it just didn't deliver. Too short a match, and if the idea as a schmoz, it should have involved Rock, not that jackass rapper. Not sure what's going on with Rock, but if he's no longer appearing, then just say so and move on from this storyline. It made zero sense for him to not be there and to get involved.
