@MrGeld @cgtwts My point is that the API key is doing all the work. A ClaudeCode prompt can build an OpenClaw dupe easier than setting up the real OpenClaw. I was excited to get OpenClaw running with local models, but you really need a super computer to run a model big enough to make it useful.

@MrGeld @cgtwts You can easily use any of the tools I mentioned and ask it to set up a “channel” system to remotely message you to trigger prompts in any Vibe coding tool of your liking on your computer at home. Then you basically have OpenClaw. It’s a CLI, Chat UI, and collection of .md files

@MrGeld @cgtwts As a 10+ year dev, OpenClaw is nothing special. All hype. Without a frontier AI model API key it’s just a chat UI and CLI that connects to “channels” like WhatsApp and various AI tools. Engineers prefer something like Claude Code, VSCode (with AI), or Cursor type apps.

This is the first time I’m aware of that the US government has completely blocked perfectly legal internet content from its citizens. This ban sets a dangerous precedent for what decisions US lawmakers are allowed to do make on behalf of its citizens, whom clearly don’t agree.

I have been against a TikTok ban for a long time, because it goes against freedom of speech. That said, the current situation where TikTok is allowed to operate in America, but 𝕏 is not allowed to operate in China is unbalanced. Something needs to change.

In my opinion, TikTok should not be banned in the USA, even though such a ban may benefit the 𝕏 platform. Doing so would be contrary to freedom of speech and expression. It is not what America stands for.

Given that modern AI can solve any “prove you’re not a robot” tests, it’s now trivial to spin up 100k human-like bots for less than a penny per account. Paid verification increases bot cost by ~10,000% & makes it much easier to identify bots by phone & CC clustering. Obvious conclusion: paid account social media will be the only social media that matters.
