A word on Max Clark today. Booed by some sections of supporters when announced that he’d won Player’s Player of the Year. Mocked by some sections of supporters whenever he made an error or a misplaced pass, and abuse hurled at him when he offered a sarcastic thumbs up in retaliation. Comments made towards him by a small minority after the match when standing in front of the Rainham End holding his child. By no means our most influential player, but can’t help but think he’s not as terrible as many are making out. If indeed he is leaving, I feel sorry for him that it has to be on these terms. #Gills

@HaydnParry and @Gills_Stats Shrewsbury Academy Player Huge Aiston made his debut today against Gillingham at the age of 15 And Glenn Morris started in goal for Gills at the age of 42 Meaning that there was an incredible 27 year age gap between both players, is that a record?

@ChilmaidStuart @RobBaker292 With teams able to make five substitutions a match, what we are seeing in football now is team's carrying much bigger first team squads, so even if McCleary makes thirty sub appearances next season, he be able to provide moments of quality we saw today as a substitute for Gills

Great finish from McCleary (give him another year) but otherwise a very drab and boring game. We created little, again. The opposition had a number of chances and were unlucky not to have scored, again. Hopefully a clear out and next season will be different

@ChilmaidStuart Oh I dunno, 15 starts and 12 sub appearances, 14th in most minutes this season. That's a decent return for the quality he brings

@RobBaker292 Can we afford him to play so few games? Absolute quality when he plays but he is rapidly becoming the new Tommy Johnson.

Glenn Morris ends with a 41st clean sheet of his @TheGillsFC career...he is 7th all-time for the club in that regard. His clean sheet rate per game of 0.302 is the 10th best in club history for keepers.

Vokes has had his testimonial half, get him off, bring on Palmer-Houlden and play him and Hale properly up top. I presume Williams coming on instead of Khumbeni is also for purely sentimental reasons

As if it matters, but this setup isn't working yet again. Hale and Dack are playing behind Vokes in a 5-2-2-1 formation, but that means they often drift wide or are miles away from play. And then Hale is also too deep to affect the game.
