After the last defeat, I didn't want Ainworth sacked - i wanted the players to get a rocket. After today, I am equivocal. I'd still like him to see the job through but would understand if he got the sack now. A series of false dawns of late. Soul-draining. Sobering.

The worst back-to-back for goals conceded in Football League era that I can find for the Gills is Sept 1953 when we lost 1-6 in consecutive games to Ipswich and Watford (at least we scored 2!)

Season in a nutshell...

10 goals conceded in 2 games by @TheGillsFC - that's the worst back-to-back games in the league in 60 years...since April 1966 when we lost 5-2 at Southend and 6-1 at Walsall consecutive games. I'm sorry but can we rip up that 2-year plan and start afresh now?

Rubbish day but Bradley Dack makes his 237th app for @TheGillsFC putting him into the all-time club top 30 for apps...alongside one Steve Bruce.

9 goals conceded in 2 games (so far!) - that hasn't happened since Sept 2008. (0-7 Shrewsbury A, 1-2 Aldershot A)
