As of March 2026 (in the current 119th Congress), the breakdown is: 53 Republicans 45 Democrats 2 Independents (who caucus with the Democrats) There needs to be 60 votes for a bill to pass. That means there needs to be at least 7 Democrats that vote in favor. The 7 votes are being withheld so democrats can get some things that a not about budgeting but about ICE reform passed. Therefore it is in fact the democrats that are holding this whole fucking thing up. Hope this helps in keeping you from posting more stupid shit.
