What exactly can a state government do to increase fuel supply or reduce cost. That’s right it’s your mate Albo that can do that. For less than what your mob gave the CFMEU in Victoria we could have two massive new refineries. Also Albo didn’t replace the strategic reserve we held in the US which was sold off I be June 2022 (ALP government). That fuel reserve would have been handy now.

@Aussie_Dad5 @GregWoo36283273 The GST is raising about an extra $600 m per month on fuel at the moment. Just think of all the NDIS scams this can fund.

@OneNationAus In 18 of the seats that Lab won there was a swing towards lab. That is more than half of the seats they won. That's pretty impressive.

2 Worlds Collide Podcast
2 Worlds Collide Podcast@2worldsPodcast·
This week on the 2 Worlds Collide Podcast, I sit down with Senator Bridget McKenzie — Federal Senator and Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development — for a direct conversation about where Australia is heading. We talk about the current fuel situation, rising costs, and what’s really driving pressure on everyday Australians and businesses across the country. We also dive into fuel security, government decision-making, and whether Australia is prepared for future challenges when it comes to energy and supply. Beyond that, we unpack the broader direction of the country — from infrastructure and regional Australia to the growing frustration many Australians feel towards political leadership and long-term planning. It’s an honest conversation about the economic and political realities shaping Australia right now — and what the future could look like from here. 🎥 Now live on YouTube & all major podcast platforms!

Unions, energy costs and increasing environmental restrictions is what killed our refineries. They were all also aging and needing upgrades that made it not financially viable for them to remain operating. Successively governments offered subsidies but the ones that closed all declined. Of note, all refineries in Singapore are classed as strategic assets and are therefore heavily subsidised.

@comical_engr We have 2 refineries, used to have more, 6 I think, but successive grubberments and unions have made it unprofitable and they closed down.

Given that we now have the skills and knowledge locally is it time for the Commonwealth to setup a National Oil Company to process our own crude oil and overseas oils as well, to provide security of supply?

@AshPolitik The leader of the party in SA said success would be gaining at least one upper house seat. Looks like 3. Also, the ALP had a lower primary vote while One Nation increased its vote by 18%.

Put your political side aside. This has been a complete fuck up by successive governments (both sides) that have perused short term political gain. Australia has so much sovereign wealth in coal, gas, oil, iron ore, gold, and so many other natural resources. The whole country could be the “Dubai” of the South Pacific. The sadist part is that us Aussies have voted these fuckwits in, over and over again.

Craig Kelly:🇦🇺Foundation for Economic Education
In SA, One Nation have so far won 3 Upper Seats and 1 in the Lower House, but they are also leading in 3 other lower house seats. If the numbers hold, they’ll have seven members of Parliament in South Australia.

To be fair, this has been happening for years. Both major parties ridiculous pursuit of “net zero” so that Australia could save the world has meant nearly zero oil exploration, restrictions to gas and coal mining, closures of power plants etc etc. giving away our resources for nearly nothing didn’t help. all of this add to the cost of production and transportation. And now higher prices. Just remember, the population voted for this.

Iran with a nuclear weapon is a serious threat. No matter what your thoughts about Isreal, Iran would 100% use one against Isreal. That would be an absolute catastrophe for the region. Iran has flouted international/UN pressure for years. Trump had just had enough. A weaken Iran is good for the world.

No, incorrect. The Australian government holds no fuel reserves to be released. They just let the 4 main fuel importers to hold less fuel as a reserve. How will that go when Singapore, HongKong and South Korea decide that their national interest is more important than our fuel needs. China has already stopped aviation fuel exports which is about 30% or our supple.
