@BluebloodedTory Conservatives paved paradise and put up a parking lot. My mortgage increased by £1000 per month. How can you give any lessons on economic performance.

It will be a socialist paradise. Many decent working people will be penalised as many decent people are penalised by employers putting safe guards in to save their business. In addition Labours penchant for eye watering wage rises will drive inflation then our mortgage rates .
The Labour Party@UKLabour

Under the Tories, the UK lost nearly twice as many days to industrial action as France - and that was only during Rishi Sunak’s premiership. Today @Keir_Starmer unveiled Labour's plan to Make Work Pay - improving workers rights, boosting productivity and driving economic growth.

Flytipping becoming a serious issue in Old Town. This is directly outside a property I own. This is really bad. This is the corner of North Street & Western Street. Seems to have become a hot-spot for flytipping. Need warning signs for fines etc. @jimrobbins @janemilnerbarry

@BluebloodedTory Yes. I was blocked by my MP at the time in North Swindon, but at the time I didn’t hear you complaining about that.

@RobHeathSwindon It is interesting but being blocked by your MP is disgraceful practice

@dale_heenan @SwindonCouncil Trying to imagine how angry you feel about the state of the country, you must be incandescent with rage about the state of the NHS.

Why is Sunak's campaign imploding and how bad could it get? I think we could - but not inevitably - be witnessing the end of the post-1945 Tory formation. A 🧵... 1/ They have achieved nothing in 14 years except Brexit...

@jimrobbins @swindonlabour I used to watch the home games regularly in the early 80s. Nice to see them back in the top league.

Not a bad few days… This time last year, @SwindonLabour were in opposition and Ipswich were in league 1. Now, we have held the Council and gained nine seats and Ipswich are in the Premier League!

Martin Lewis has quite a speech here lamenting how the BBC relegated consumer journalism to a section in The One Show, when such issues affect millions of lives

Tories talking about the investment in Coate water. Great use of money?

@implausible17 Yes. If it’s in a PowerPoint as AI it raises my suspicion. It’s becoming a generic acronym for doing smart stuff with processing data.

@RobHeathSwindon 100% Most systems being touted as "AI" in my industry (CRM) are either not desperately good at their job (mistakes/hallucinations/bias), or if they *are* good, they weren't even close to unsupervised builds. Much smoke and mirrors and buzzword bingo.

Interesting the Conservative opposition in Swindon aren't aware of the AI innovations already in place. I have been impressed by the digital team here in Swindon.

@implausible17 Seen some pretty cool networking automation with data lakes used to identify network issues. There’s stuff that computers are really great at but a lot of the genius is injected from humans to provide the necessary rules.

@RobHeathSwindon I wanted to put "AI" in quotes in my original question but didn't have enough twitter characters :D

@implausible17 A lot of hype in this area. A lot of AI talk is just ML.

@RobHeathSwindon What are these AI innovations just out of interest? I used to work in what we used to call neural network research years ago, but have a hot-and-cold relationship with some of the current machine learning tech. So I'd be interested to hear what is being used by my local council

@implausible17 One example was analysis of photos to figure out the extent of fly tipping and allocating the task to the correct team according to the size. There is an appetite for a lot of automation across many functions. Something I hope we can champion.
