@Carl_M79 I really want to be wrong, but I just can’t see it tonight. So many of the players seem so unfit, so can’t feed as easy off the atmosphere.

One thing is for certain, Liverpool absolutely must score the first goal.

Rest assured the game at the Etihad next week will be one of the worst games of football that’s ever happened. Arteta will be thinking up ways to ruin it that currently don’t even exist.

Premier League winning teams for me… Either play the play best football in the League OR they have an attacking star, or multiple attacking stars, having incredible individual seasons. Arsenal do not fit into either category. And that would worry me as a Gunners fan.

@LFC_211 @from_hackney @PaperGooner @LewManUtd @DougieCritchley Which we’ve, being Liverpool fans have experienced this season and not a lot of the fanbase are happy with. I want to see Liverpool win, but we watch football for entertainment. I genuinely can’t remember many times this season, watching any team. Which I’ve really enjoyed.

@from_hackney @LFC_211 @PaperGooner @LewManUtd @DougieCritchley People watch football to be entertained. This season the product has been terrible, not picking on Arsenal but using as a barometer. Arsenal are on track to score 74 goals this season in the league. The last champion to have less was Leicester in 15/16. Last time I seen stats for

@PaperGooner @LewManUtd @DougieCritchley ‘Multiple attacking stars’ Haaland, Semenyo, Cherki. And they play the best football in the league this season, which granted isn’t great but the standard of the league is in the gutter so by default they play the best football because literally everyone else is shit

@Carl_M79 You’d think Rio has to start. Get him to get Anfield even more going and hope it works.

@AhmedSa21980828 @cmclarnon89 @FPLfrasier Salah has dropped off and it is fine to admit. The only thing that could get maybe another year is selfless runners around him with raw pace. Is why he looked so much better with Diaz/Jota/Nunez/Szobo last year.

@cmclarnon89 @FPLfrasier His current form is the prime for a lot of “top players” if you can’t see that this is a Slot problem and not a Salah problem you don’t understand football

I may be proven wrong, but I think Salah still has 1-2 years at the very top level. Watching him closely, my feeling is the issue at times is in his head. I don’t know him personally to know what it is. But, his pace is okay, he is getting into good positions. He just messes up a few situations now. Once his confidence is fully back he should be fine.

@davidlynchlfc Arsenal were always the better footballing side David, but Bournemouth fought for everything and all credit to them 😊

Only managed to listen to Arsenal on the radio en route to Anfield but generating 0.19 open play xG in a home game at this point in a title race is so damning. And it’s not particularly surprising, either - the criticisms around being reliant on set-pieces are entirely fair.

The handball rule again It’s a pen due to the rules but the distance between Gabriel & Christie must be less than 2 yards? I can remember 4/5 decisions like that this season

@Carl_M79 We just do not look like scoring. Even in the opening 30 against City, we looked bright. But never made much of anything.

PSG are through and they know it by the look of their celebrations at the end there. I'd love to believe Liverpool can turn it around, but Anfield can only do so much. The players have to have it in them to ignite the spark and this lot just don't I'm afraid. Miles off it.

@JK_Excelsior @FrankEra_ Far as I know, PSR doesn’t care about the structure of deals. But is calculated by removing book value (remaining transfer fee. Eg 50m on a 5 year is seen as 10m a year) If you sell after 2 years for 100m. You book £70m profit in that year you’ve sold.

@FrankEra_ I don’t think anyone pays big fees upfront these days, everyone’s paying it on the drip for PSR. Makes no sense to pay it all at once as it just hinders the rest of the window

Don’t think this is true.. but City get these type of deals because they have the luxury of being able to pay the entire fee upfront. £65M upfront probably, while we’d be giving Forest £20M a year spread across 4/5 years. It’s a big advantage when dealing with clubs.
City Xtra@City_Xtra

#ManCity believe they have won the race to sign Elliot Anderson and are confident of a £65M deal. The 23-year-old has let it be known that the Etihad Stadium is his preferred choice and @ManCity are keen to get a deal over the line before the World Cup. [via @MirrorFootball]

@onysera1 @Blame_Suarez Isn’t the reason we lost at all. We were crap after 30 minutes. But Oliver is a shambolic ref. The first penalty shout was also never a pen 😂

@RobLFC_ @Blame_Suarez There is no way you are crying about dubious refereeing decisions on a day where you were thoroughly outplayed 😂😂 and if that penalty call was the other way around you’d be crying also about corruption but ofc the “biased” ref didn’t call that one eh

My favourite bit was when Antoine Semenyo caught the ball on the field of play and Michael Oliver signalled for a throw. That's a great thing to do when you've previously accepted payment from the owners of Manchester City to ref pointless exhibition games in Dubai.

@RobLFC_ @Blame_Suarez My favourite part was after City kicked it out so they could do a VAR check, Oliver told Gomez to play on and when he took a quick throw and set Salah free down the wing he called it back.
