Working on a film room concept called Pass Pro Lab with Josh Simmons. We’re studying his pass pro tape against top NFL rushers, then folding in examples from current/past elite LTs against similar rush plans to study the finer details of high-level pass protection. Should be dropping next week.

@FB_FilmAnalysis This was my first thought. It was assumed that Ji'Ayir Brown was calling for advice or confiding in Donte Whitner, when from Whitner's reaction, it seemed much more confrontational.

Don’t get the anger towards Whitner. Brown called him to check him, not to get advice to improve. That’s fair game. If Brown called him in a constructive manner and Whitner made it public and made fun of him that’s one thing but that’s not what happened.

The #49ers are currently projected to be $25M in the hole for 2027 and $8M in the hole for 2028, per OTC. The majority of their current $69M (nice) in cap space will be rolled over into next year to bring them back into the green.

At 4 am this morning, as I laid in a deep slumber, I was called to action by my wife who had discovered a spider the size of a half dollar in the bathroom. Without hesitation I arose to combat the intruder. Claire handed me the slant board I’ve been using for rehab, and I immediately knew the spider had no chance. It took but 1 attempt to strike down my opponent. I received hugs and kisses for my bravery and fell back asleep with confidence. Have a day gentlemen. 🕷️

Not much to take from the one open #49ers rookie minicamp practice we just watched. A few quick thoughts and notes: - Niners were cautious with their drafted rookies in terms of participation. Most notably it was limited action for WR De'Zhaun Stribling and RB Kaelan Black in 7 on 7. - Throughout most of the practice, Stribling could be seen taking mental reps behind the play. He'd stand on the edge of the huddle, listen to the play call, memorize what his position and route would be then shadow whoever was playing the position. When the play started, he'd stay still about 5 yards behind the line but point out which direction the player running the route was supposed to go. - Niners DE Mykel Williams, who is recovering from a torn ACL, was seen on the side doing a lengthy workout as his rehab continues. Appears to be moving well this closely removed from his injury. - QB Kurtis Rourke shared reps with tryout QB Preston Stone. Rourke appeared to be throwing it well now that he's another year removed from knee injury that kept him sidelined for most of last year. Rourke is wearing No. 14, as is punter Jack Bouwmeester. - Some other rookie numbers: Stribling - 15 Black - 26 CB Ephesians Prysock - 41 LB Jaden Dugger - 53 OL Enrique Cruz - 69 OL Carver Willis - 74 DT Gracen Halton - 93 DL Romello Height - 94 - Six of the above eight rookies signed their rookie 4-year deals on Friday. The only two yet to sign are Height and Halton. - Among the returning or former Niners participating on Friday: DB Derrick Canteen, TE Mason Pline (tryout), OL Drake Nugent and OL Isaac Alarcon. - Black said after practice he's heard from nearly all of the Niners' biggest stars, including RB Christian McCaffrey, TE George Kittle and LB Fred Warner. He was particularly excited to note that his locker is next to Warner's. - 49ers will reconvene at the end of the month for the start of OTAs.
