@Marcus_Corral @KP_Show Very true. Tough to overcome consistent misses and a failed trade-up in the most important round, but somehow they've managed. Appreciate ya!
English

@Rob_Lowder @KP_Show Really enjoyed this. Agreed with mostly everything yall deemed hits. I think the mediocrity in Rd 1, and the trey lance pick(s), is what give JL/KS a worse rep than they deserve

New Striking Gold!
Hit or miss? @KP_Show and I cast judgement on every pick of the Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch era, round by round, with comparisons to the league average. #49ers

@BluesBaldwin I’m just being annoying lol. I understand the drawbacks and certainly don’t think he’s being drafted by the 49ers with any sort of certainty.
English

@Rob_Lowder @KP_Show I know you want him but ....nah. Can't do. Can't afford to do it. One Ricky Pearsall is enough..
English

I’d take him at 27…
…but he’d be a perfect target if the #49ers traded back out of the first round. I blame @KP_Show for the hype.

Louisville WR Chris Bell, who was widely considered a top-20 pick before suffering an ACL injury in November, is progressing ahead of schedule and is now running and jumping. Teams are intrigued by his unique skill set at 6’2.5”, 225 lbs, and in-game GPS tracked him at low 4.3 speed in full pads. Bell already has visits scheduled with 13 teams (and has completed four) and is expected to be fully cleared by training camp, and chance of being first-round pick is still real.
English

@BDPeacock @KP_Show His stock is precisely 27, Brian. Get on board.
English

@Rob_Lowder @KP_Show Speed shows up for sure. But he might not have been for everyone even before ACL. Had him going to SF in my 1st mock draft in Nov. Really hard to figure out his stock now. I’m guessing outside top 50.
English

@BDPeacock @KP_Show My angle: the ACL injury is the only reason he’ll be there at 27 (or later) and otherwise would’ve been in the front half of the round. Risky, for sure. I highly doubt he makes it to 58, but we’ve seen crazier.
That speed shows up on the film, too. Close to the total package.
English

@Rob_Lowder @KP_Show I'm big on Chris Bell, but he's gotta fall to 58. And still not sure 49ers take him there. Surgery in December, so highly unlikely to participate in camp, which means redshirt year for Kyle Shanahan.
As for the ahead of schedule, 4.3, 1st round stuff... Nice try, Bell's agent.

I can only imagine what Kyle Shanahan would do with a tight end (think pass catcher) that runs a 4.39 at 6-3, 240. Capable blocker, too. I still assume that Kenyon Sadiq won't make it to the #49ers at 27, but if he did...

Broncos are trading for Miami WR Jaylen Waddle, per source.
Denver receives: Waddle and Dolphins’ 4th-round pick (11th in round) in this year’s draft.
Miami receives: Broncos’ 1st round pick (30th overall) along with their late 3rd and 4th round picks (30th in each round) in this year’s draft.

It’s Takeaway Time!? In March?!
You’re damn right. Let me hear your thoughts on the #49ers’ offseason so far. Your favorite additions? Moves they should still make?
Reply with your takeaways and we’ll talk about them on tonight’s episode of Striking Gold!
English

@SonOfLeif_8 I agree, but I fear the 49ers might be content with a completion between Colby and Toth.
English

@Rob_Lowder I don’t really see anything that helps lg yet they need a solid veteran lg like now
English

The #49ers have, for the most part, really expanded their options in the draft. They’ve done a good job addressing their weakest position groups, to the point where I could see them going several directions at 27 and beyond. EDGE still stands out above the rest, as far as need.
English

@Erik_Hines "...when he did play he was nonexistent."
It didn't sound like you were aware.
Kirk was mostly a non-factor last season, but that's a far cry from non-existent, especially in the biggest games of the year. Maybe he carries some of that momentum into this year for the 49ers.
English

Mike Evans, Ricky Pearsall, Christian Kirk and Demarcus Robinson are a solid group of starting-caliber wide receivers, pending any other additions.
Jacob Cowing and Jordan Watkins will have to fight their way up that depth chart if they want to see the field. #49ers
English

@GORO1680 If the 49ers like a receiver enough, they could definitely still take one at 27. It would just mean that one of the above is likely off the final roster.
English

@Rob_Lowder like the move but if there is a good wr on the board they may pass because they have 6 already.
