@BenjaminPutano Did they write the number in the book? No. We’re they going to tell HQ to update the book for the next printing? No. 🙄

@BenjaminPutano I went to a National stationery store to buy printer ink. “What ink do I need for a BlahBlah X3001?” They didn’t know they didn’t know so they looked in the book that came from HQ. It wasn’t in there. So I searched on my phone, found the cartridge number and told the server…

This is anecdotal but most companies are missing 70-90% of the valuable customer feedback they could be getting. I have never submitted product feedback and thought, "That was a good use of my time." It's like no one is listening. No follow up, not even a thank you. Wasted opp

There should be boxed sets of books without book one. You buy book one to see if you, or your kid, like it, & want a set of the rest of the series, but you are forced to rebuy book 1 or buy them one at a time. So sell the set without book one. @Usborne @Scholastic @HodderBooks

I'm writing a math book, but I'm going to make the title close to that of a famous novel so when people google the novel they'll find mine. I'm thinking about Wuthering Hyperbolas. Any suggestions?

@gilbert I started to read that as a limerick... There was once a PM at Slack, Who started to take some flack. Links work another way, And not with Cmd+K. And Ben wants his shortcut back.

There was once a PM at Slack who decided Cmd+K should not be the keyboard shortcut for hyperlinks. I would like to know this person's name and phone number.

@BenjaminPutano Interesting that on the spines the titles are more prominent in the first three books, then the author’s name is the bigger element from book four.

I just finished The Expanse 😭 So freaking good. Fantastic sci-fi series. But I think I liked Hyperion Cantos more... Anyway, what should I read next?

How do I export comments from MS Word 365? (MS Word help is clueless, Bard suggests things that don't work, ChatGPT claims it's not possible as of 2021) So far I do it by saving as an HTML page but I'm hoping there might be an easier way.

Thinking in Systems is the best book I’ve read all year. Feels like I gained 10 IQ points just by opening it. Having clarity over how the world works is essential for anyone trying to do anything worthwhile.

@FinbarrFarrell @GrammarTable 2. 1979– Originally British. The number of people entering or passing through a particular shop or shopping area, or other business, venue, etc., over a given period of time. My guess is that the old peak is meaning 1 and the recent peak is meaning 2. 2/2

I’m in Ann Arbor, Michigan! If you have a suggestion for a Grammar Table location tomorrow during the day, please let me know! The ideal space would have foot traffic, shade, and plenty of room so I don’t block passersby.

@FinbarrFarrell @GrammarTable “Footfall” seems to be the phrase in British English. Used in US English too, but slightly behind “foot traffic”. See Ngram results.

@GrammarTable Never seen or heard it 'here'. There is 'passing trade' which is used for shops. I suppose you could use it in your case, too, but 'foot traffic' captures it much better.

This Tory government's aim to "max out" on North Sea fossil fuels up until 2050 is the most duplicitous and cynical abuse of power, and a devastating lack of vision and leadership. Can't wait to see them gone. thenational.scot/news/23690757.…
