@LookingBack22 @Dan_Wyke That's not good because continuity of care is important. Is there a system at your GP surgery where you can request the same doctor?

I've been registered with the same surgery for 16 years and in all that time not a single dr there has indicated that they recognise me. Aside from being an inefficient way to practice medicine, I find it really rude! Is this a strategy GPs use elsewhere or unique to my surgery?

RIGHT so when i started my sociology course in college, my teacher stated us off with “well i guess we have to do icebreakers. i’m Jon, and i fear bears. why do i fear bears? because bears can run at 30 miles per hour and Chester Zoo is 300 miles away. that means a bear can be outside this door in an hour. why would a bear be here? because they can smell fear and i fear them.”

@zoeharcombe You’re a Doctor or so you claim, why are you asking Twitter? Wouldn’t you be better off asking experienced bacteriologists & virologists?

The bacteria held responsible for this Meningitis outbreak will be in most students. That raises 2 Qs: 1) The issue is not spread between people but how and why did the bacteria spread within the body (to the blood/meninges)? 2) If the idea of a vaccine is to introduce a foreign substance to the body so that it can build antibodies in case it encounters that substance again, how does that work with something already in the body? 🤔

Train drama! En route to Sheffield to meet up with @LLLChick and @RobertFisk. Did not realise I had accidentally booked the trains for YESTERDAY instead of today. 🤦🏻‍♀️Rebooked and then the train to Leeds was cancelled! Now on 1 of 3 trains to get to Sheffield. #BethsArmy

I stupidly expect better from you @marksandspencer this pillow has been out of stock online and in store during the whole time it was 50% off. Today, when back up to full price it’s suddenly available again. You don’t deserve my custom.

@Ali__Woo When items go into a 50% sale, they're snapped up really quickly (especially when they're already in high demand!) By the time these particular pillows were back in stock, the promotion had ended. I'm sorry you're disappointed, but sadly this is out of our control. 🙁 - Nat

Why do we give older people drugs that make their mental functioning worse? Ms Davies, 80, came in with pneumonia. Within a day she was lethargic, not eating, barely responding. The team put it down to the infection. The term 'delirium' was never mentioned. But somebody had also started her on a benzodiazepine overnight for "mild anxiety." Nobody connected the two. On the ward round I noticed her responsiveness kept shifting - partly alert one moment, not responding the next. Both the drowsiness and the fluctuation suggested delirium. Screening test positive. We stopped the benzodiazepine, and continued the treatment for the pneumonia with antibiotics, fluids, and oxygen. The next day she later she was sitting up in her chair eating. She was able to participate in physiotherapy. The lesson here isn't complicated. If you start a sedative in an older person and they get more confused, stop the sedative. Don't add another drug on top. Check your prescribing before you check anything else. #delirium #medicationsafety

@SW_Help @MannGeorgia Are you expecting her to get up at each station in the hope that the guard is somewhere near her carriage? Surely, it would be better to get a message to the driver/ guard, and then the guard can walk through the train

Hi @SW_Help I have had to twice move seats on your 14.12 service from Waterloo to Shepperton as there are people playing music out of their speakers very loudly. There’s a person in Carriage 10 with a speaker out playing at high volume. Please HELP passengers deal with this

Do BBC journalists have training in nodding shots? I ask because they never nod at the times that a normal person would.
