@samefc88 No idea how that’s what you took from that. Anyway, we’ve both spent way too long on this using this crappy medium of commmunication and I’m sure you have better things to do too. Have a nice evening.
English

@RobertHayden You have a very narcissistic outlook on all of this. You’re telling me that me sitting behind you waiting for you is safer for everyone. You’re putting a lot of trust in people
English

@samefc88 Not at all. I said everyone makes mistakes.
The huge difference is a driver’s mistake is way way more likely to hurt someone else.
English

@RobertHayden Yea it was with the actual people. The funny thing is, cyclist are so faultless they can’t comprehend that one of their own could ever possible be the issue! You all claim innocence. Cringy really.
English

@samefc88 It’s better and safer for everyone. Never had a car behind me more than a minute. And the big advantage in getting a balanced perspective is that I do both all the time so I can see both sides. Most cyclists also drive. The reverse isn’t true.
English

@RobertHayden Of course it’s inconsiderate. Just because it’s better for YOU. This just nails it for me that cyclists only care about them selves Nd couldn’t give a shit about others! Lorry’s have had to have massive fluorescent signs to tel cyclist to not undertake them! Yet they still do!
English

@samefc88 So it wasn’t a conversation with the actual people who did it at the time so they’re just guessing? My instinct is that if someone moves before you are going to overtake, it might possibly be that. But if they’re next to you, I can’t see it. Instinctively hold the line.
English

@samefc88 And not inconsiderate at all. Quite the opposite. They are very quiet so it affects the fewest drivers.
English

@RobertHayden You said some roads do t have enough room to pass at times. Well do t use those roads then, that’s really simple in my opinion. The only reason you would use them I because you’re inconsiderate to other road users.
English

@samefc88 That doesn’t make them unsafe. If anything those are the safest because there’s very little traffic and it’s slower.
English

@samefc88 Was that the actual cyclists who did it or someone saying why they thought it had been done by someone else?
English

@RobertHayden Lots of these crying cyclists told me that they’re moving towards me because they deemed it unsafe for me to pass and/or they don’t want me to pass. I wasn’t talking about you personally but you’ve come in to a thread that was nearly 2 days old when you arrived
English

@samefc88 Don’t have a camera.
You realise throwing around playground insults like “crying cyclist” doesn’t imbue your apparent attempt to debate reasonably with any additional credibility?
English

Send the footage to the police like every other crying cyclist then

@samefc88 And by the way, last weekend I had 3 cars come past me in convoy. Dead straight road. Nothing coming. No hassle, hadn’t been held up more than 30 seconds. The first two were 👍 over the other side of the road. The third one was about 3” from my right arm. Common abysmal driving.
English

@samefc88 They are all safe if people use them responsibly. I might draw the line at the A3 though.
English

@RobertHayden Well don’t use the roads that are safe for you to be on. That’s you’re own fault. You don’t get to moan in this instance. This is moving back towards my original point, be considerate. If you know the road isn’t safe. Don’t use it.
English

@samefc88 When did I tell you that? I didn’t, that I can remember?
When did anyone tell you something that wasn’t just what is in the highway code?
English

@RobertHayden Telling me how you want me to drive isn’t the Highway Code mate.
English

@samefc88 And in that case, they can be punished. Not sure there’s an argument here.
English

@RobertHayden It is. You don’t just get to say I’m happy to endanger my self but you can’t endanger me. That’s not how it works. Morally or ethically. You saying it’s ok for you to endanger your self and you cause an accident where you crash in to me I then have to mentally deal with that
English

@samefc88 I don’t, that’s just the highway code.
I don’t think it’s ok to move towards you but sometimes it’s to avoid a hazard.
I don’t think it’s ok to take up the entire road but some roads don’t have enough room to pass at times.
Anyway - stay safe. I’ll keep riding considerately.
English

@RobertHayden I’m expecting to be educated why you think you get to dictate how I drive on the road. Why you think it’s ok to move towards me when I’m attempting to pass. Why you think it’s ok to take up the entire road. Stats suggest more bad driver because there’s more drivers 🤷🏻♂️
English

@samefc88 Oh - the last point - Potentially, if it was stupidly high risk like weaving across the road (or for that matter walking into it while looking at their phone)
English

@RobertHayden So it’s one rule for one and one rule for the other then. Therefore you will never get a driver to agree is things aren’t fair all the way round. So because he comes off worse that means I’m ok because I’m in my car. Doesn’t affect me at all? Not even mentally?
English

@RobertHayden That’s not a comparison because being dangerous to anyone should be punishable
English

@samefc88 We willingly do it because it’s by far the most enjoyable form of exercise, to boost mental and physical health AND it’s a good form of transport for a lot of journeys. Not sure what you’re expecting to be educated on to be honest. Can’t be in question that some drivers are bad.
English

@RobertHayden You willingly put your self in this position though. You cyclists have had 2/3 days to educate me. You have all failed miserably and really only you that hasn’t resorted to personal abuse. So for me, I drive perfectly. I’m not worried whether the cyclist thinks it’s too close
