It has since been proven that what President Carter saw was not Venus (as some speculated), and certainly not an alien ship, but a rocket launch. They are so common now that we're used to seeing them (every week here in Santa Barbara from SpaceX up the road), but back then...
Collin Rugg@CollinRugg

NEW: Rep. Tim Burchett says former President Jimmy Carter cried when he was told information about UFOs and aliens. "I don't think Trump knows. I mean, these people have kept this stuff secret..." "When they told Jimmy Carter, he cried... You can go to the Carter Library and pull up that date... But they list the meeting and where he was when he got that brief."

Christopher Hitchens: ”In 1786, when the United States was barely a country, it was having its sailors taken as slaves by the Barbary states, the states of the Ottoman Empire and North Africa. Tripoli, shores of Tripoli. Ships stopped, its crews carried off into slavery. We estimate 1.5 million European and American slaves taken between 1750 and 1815. Jefferson and Adams went to their ambassador in London and said, why do you do this to us? The United States has never had a quarrel with the Muslim world of any kind. We weren't in the crusades. We weren't at war with Spain. Why do you do this to our people and our ships? Why do you plunder and enslave our people? The ambassador said very plainly, Mr. Abdul Rahman said, because the Quran gives us permission to do so, because you are infidels, and that's our answer. Jefferson said, well, in that case, I will send a navy which will crush your state, which he did. Islamic fundamentalism is not created by American democracy. It's a lie to say so. It's a masochistic lie, and it excuses those who are the real criminals, and blames us for the attacks made upon us.”

Seriously, the “it’s just birds” explanation ignores the operational context of these systems that are capturing these videos. Greenstreet — are you really this dense? Military ISR platforms are not randomly locking onto seagulls and escalating them into classified UAP reports. That would be an absurd failure of both the sensor systems and the trained operators using them. Here’s the issue with the bird explanation: If this footage is being captured from a drone or fast-moving military aircraft, then relative motion matters. At speeds exceeding 130+ MPH, birds traveling 20–40 MPH would rapidly pass through frame, exhibit obvious biological wing motion, and be quickly identified as mundane objects. These systems are specifically designed to filter, classify, and track known aerial phenomena: birds balloons drones aircraft atmospheric clutter false returns Operators train extensively on this. People also keep acting like the public clip is the entire dataset. It isn’t. The released FLIR footage is usually only one sensor feed from a much larger classified package that can include radar tracks, telemetry, infrared signatures, speed calculations, altitude data, and multisensor confirmation. Could some cases end up being mundane? Absolutely. Some probably are. But the idea that military operators, sensor analysts, pilots, and intelligence personnel are repeatedly confusing birds for anomalous tracked objects across multiple systems is retarded.
Steven Greenstreet 🐷@MiddleOfMayhem

"UFO" in article is most-likely 3 birds as you can see some wing flapping (below). That's not surprising since Jeremy Corbell, the subject of this "new doc", has a history of promoting balloons, birds and stars as "UFOs" per my own NY Post report: nypost.com/video/ridiculo…

THE COMMERCIALIZATION & SEXUALIZATION IN MODERN UFOLOGY Recently, Chrissy Newton appeared in a television interview where she was labeled a “UFO expert.” That label caught the attention of quite a few people for many reasons. The main reason given was that nobody can truly be an expert on UFOs themselves because humanity has never publicly captured, confirmed, and scientifically studied extraterrestrial craft. What people can be are subject matter experts on the history of Ufology, UFO reports, government investigations, folklore, aviation, psychology, or the culture surrounding the phenomenon. Experts in the study of the history of UFOs absolutely do exists and may be more appropriate wording. The distinction of the two matters and this case shows why. Now, to be fair, television producers often create these labels themselves. It’s entirely possible she did not choose that title, and if that’s the case, fine. That alone is not the biggest or the most outrageous issue being addressed within this article. The bigger issue is what modern Ufology continues to reward and normalize... the sexualization of woman in this field. The field has a recent history of shifting away from investigation and toward personal branding, influencer culture, and self-marketing. We are watching UFO related personalities become products. Merchandise tied to personal image branding, phone cases, shower curtains, coasters, prints, pillows and more, all becoming part of the UFO ecosystem. And as a woman in this space, that concerns me deeply. Because alongside the branding is the continued sexualization of women in Ufology. One of the images circulating online depicts a stylized drawing of Chrissy Newton posed beside an alien in revealing clothing that resembles lingerie style artwork. Whether intentional or not, the message it sends is hard to ignore. Ufology already struggles to be taken seriously. Women within the field already fight an uphill battle for credibility and respect in what remains a heavily male-dominated space. So when female personalities become increasingly tied to glamour branding, sexualized imagery, and merchandise built around appearance, it hurts the exact progress many claim they want for women in Ufology. This is not about attacking women for being attractive, feminine, or entrepreneurial. That completely misses the point. The issue is the culture surrounding Ufology itself, a culture that too often turns women into marketable aesthetics before it values them for any intellectual contribution, skepticism, investigative work, or research. If Ufology wants legitimacy, it cannot continue operating like a hybrid of influencer culture, fandom merchandising, and sci-fi fantasy branding while simultaneously demanding to be viewed as a serious subject. The field does not need more personalities to market. And it certainly doesn't need any more woman in a position marketing their scantly clad bodies. It needs more critical thinking, evidence-based discussion, accountability, and serious investigation. Can I forgive the fact a news program called her a "UFO expert?"...Yes sure I can be understanding to that. Can I forgive her, as one woman to another in this field trying to be taken seriously, seeing her half dressed and selling her image?...No. Someone has to be brave and honest enough to stand up for all women and say what it really is. It's damaging. I don't know this woman personally, on a personal level she may be a wonderful person however, she is harming the field with what she is doing. Woman can take one step forward and this kind of behavior can quickly push us all one giant leap back.

I can agree with you that 'Oswald did it.' But sometimes I wonder: Oswald visited the Cuban Embassy in Mexico City a few weeks before the assassination. This is quite unusual. Apparently he was seeking a visa to enter Cuba? And perhaps they said to him, "Fidel asks you to do something for us first....."???

RIP G. Robert Blakey (1936–2026) — architect of the RICO Act and chief counsel of the House Select Committee on Assassinations. He was 90. We agreed that Oswald killed JFK. We strongly disagreed on whether he did it alone or the mafia was behind the assassination. Our 2013 debate at the Mob Museum in Las Vegas was one for the books (with @trishaposner at the door). What I’ll remember most: Blakey argued hard but always with rigor, respect, and evidence. No theatrics. No insults. Just serious intellectual combat. On a topic too often drowned in noise and wild conspiracy theories, he was a model of how honest disagreements should be conducted. We never changed each other’s minds — but we always kept listening. He will be missed.

Fauci’s actions caused the deaths of about eight million people, 1.2 million of them Americans. His actions may or may not have constituted federal crimes, but he almost certainly committed perjury, which is a crime. The least Trump can do is prosecute him for that. Let a jury decide.
