After my fathers death in 1885 my family and I moved across the country to Lawrence Massachusetts.

I have just finished creating my poems "a time to talk" and "My November Guest!" hope you all like them

In my career i have written 33 poems.!! Quite an accomplishment

I sold my first poem "My butterfly. An Elegy" for $15 dollars.

I received over 40 honorary degrees In many different colleges,and was the only person to get two honorary degrees from Dartmouth College.

My favorite topic of poetry to write about is the depiction of rural life!!!

Just finished some drafts for new poems!!!!!

My first poem that i published was when i was still in high school
