Lo scrivo ora che ha appena vinto a scanso di equivoci: Fonseca è un signor giocatore e otterrà tanto, nessuno lo mette in dubbio, ma quel talento unico e straordinario che vedono tutti non riesco a vederlo. Le grandi qualità sono note: con ogni fondamentale tira forte, fortissimo, fortissimissimo. Andiamo oltre. Per me ha degli evidenti limiti tattici e fisici. Gioca costantemente offensivo: tira solo vincenti e fatica quando lo costringono a variare il ritmo. Fisicamente non è lento ma ha poca elasticità, di conseguenza spesso non ha una buona copertura del campo. Il che (è un cane che si morde la coda) lo porta ancora di più ad accorciare gli scambi, non costruire il punto e cercare vincenti. È il tipo di gioco basato sull’all-in che quando funziona sembri una divinità, quando funziona meno sembri tonto come una falena che sbatte seicento volte sulla stessa lampadina. A mio parere questa sarà la parte più complessa sulla quale dovrà lavorare. È un mix tra formazione, carattere e istintiva intelligenza tennistica che richiede anche pazienza. Le mie vogliono essere riflessioni di ordine pratico. Capisco che possa appassionare, i motivi del tifo sono vari e non li metto mai in discussione. In fondo ho conosciuto dei tifosi di Hanfmann. Ha tutto il tempo per migliorare questi aspetti, forse lo farà o forse no, non lo so. Allo stato attuale, però, più lo vedo giocare e più mi sento il meme di John Travolta in mezzo al tennistuitte che lo idolatra. #tennis #rolexmontecarlomasters
