Leader of the Opposition visits Japan’s Parliament building Today, Thursday, May 7, Leader of the Opposition in the Bangladesh parliament and Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman MP, visited Japan’s Parliament Building. It is noteworthy that Japan’s Parliament Building is known as the National Diet Building. It is located in the Nagatachō area of Tokyo and serves as the center of Japan’s bicameral national legislature (the Diet). Japan’s Parliament has a total of 713 members, including 465 members in the lower house and 248 members in the upper house. During the visit, the Honourable Leader of the Opposition toured the upper house, lower house, and various important chambers of the parliament. On this occasion, a senior official of Japan’s Parliament guided the Jamaat Ameer and briefed him in detail about the parliament’s operations, history, and legislative process. Member of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Saiful Alam Khan Milon MP, and Jamaat Ameer's advisor on foreign affairs Barrister Mir Ahmad Bin Quasem Arman MP, were also present during the visit. At the end of the visit, the Leader of the Opposition highly praised the functioning activities, discipline, and modern management of Japan’s democratic institutions.
