This is probably the most I’ve been invested in the Taiwanese elections since they started in 1996. #teamtaiwan

Didn’t realize the 2021 Cyrano was done as a musical! It didn’t get great ratings but I thought it was fun. Thought Peter Dinklage was great and loved seeing “Cora” (from Music & Lyrics) all grown up

@blargster I don’t see “ten” as a grouping whereas I think of the others as groupings.

@RoboJenny Touche, but slightly different use case there. Actually I think the reason for the difference is that we have words for "two ten" (twenty) or "three ten" (thirty) but not for the others, so we need to clarify how many thousands ("a thousand"="one thousand").

Why does English use an article before "a thousand", "a million", "a billion", "a dozen" but not for "a ten"?

okay so AI can literally read our minds now. a team from osaka was able to reconstruct visual images from mri scan data using stable diffusion. first row is the image presented to the test subject, second row is the reconstructed image from mri data. wild.

When your beloved father dies on your birthday while you are in the middle of moving interstate, at least nobody tries to tell you it's not awful (yet, and hopefully ever).

@masonadams Mostly my podiatrist and PT. Nothing sophisticated, just trying to A) get my cadence up to 170+ spm and B) use glutes more when running. Trying to rely less on calves/quads exclusively.

First race of 2022! And since trying to revamp my running style/cadence. Did well despite having to walk a couple of times.

What are the best TV shows that don't require too much active visual attention? (E.g. West Wing is great in large part due to dialogue.) I've got a project that needs visual but not verbal attention. I guess I could listen to podcasts/books-on-tape as well.
