@RobynPorteous One of the biggest things I had to learn to grieve was our late moms things, what we considered home; which was where she was and our home. But you realize, as you grieve more, they become things. It’s not easy, it never will be, but it does get easier. It’s just sad, for now.

As some of you know, I’ve been living in my parent’s house since February, to sort of caretake it while we go through the process of wrapping up their estates. Last week, a man put an offer on the house and almost everything in it.

My father was member of Rescue 2 (NSRI) for 35 years. I finally live close enough to a base to join. I’ll soon be crew of Rescue 8 and be ticking off something that’s been on bucket list for a very long time
