Imagine if every stadium shared messages like this at half-time!! 👏 Swansea City used their scoreboard to remind fans to check in on a friend, or speak to the person next to them - words on a space usually reserved for tactical updates and substitution numbers. It's simple, but in a sport that so often overcomplicates everything, that's exactly the point. Football grounds hold a strange kind of power… those stands can make you feel ten feet tall or completely alone depending on the day. The dressing room is the same. You can be surrounded by teammates and still be fighting something privately that nobody knows about 🤷‍♂️ I urge clubs to seriously think about the reach they have. Those screens, those stadiums - there is no better place to put a message that matters, especially one that people wouldn't think to seek out themselves. Full credit to Swansea and the Jac Lewis Foundation for this 🙌 (📸: jac lewis foundation/theawayfans)

Professional football taught me to ignore my body. It took YEARS to unlearn that ⏳ Kasper Schmeichel is now set to undergo two operations after playing through injury. He’ll also miss Denmark’s World Cup play-off semi-final against North Macedonia later this month 😔 And believe me, I know how much that hurts. Playing football professionally does something to you - it stops being a career and becomes your whole life, you live and breathe it every single day. You take the injection, you pop the pills, you do whatever it takes to stay on that field, even when your body is screaming at you to stop ❌ Because in the moment, sitting out feels like the more painful option. Looking back, that mindset comes at a cost - the body keeps score 👀 Masking pain doesn't fix the problem underneath, it just delays the conversation you eventually have to have with yourself. The hard truth is that taking care of your body is taking care of your career, your longevity, and your life after the game. Wishing Kaspar the very best with his recovery 🙏 (🎥: CBSSportsGolazo)

Now this is CRAZY 🤯 Senegal have now been stripped of their AFCON title… nearly two months after winning it on the pitch 🇲🇦⚽️ CAF have overturned the result and awarded Morocco a 3-0 victory, ruling that Senegal ‘forfeited’ the final after their players briefly walked off in protest over a dodgy late penalty decision. Despite returning, finishing the game, AND winning in extra time, it’s now been erased. It’s no surprise that the Senegalese government has called for an independent international investigation into suspected corruption 👀 I just can’t get my head around it 😅 If there was an issue, it should’ve been dealt with in the moment… As long as the referee allowed the game to continue, that decision should stand!!! Because in the dressing room, you move on based on that result. You recover, you reflect, you reset. Rewriting it weeks later? That just can’t happen ❌

A reminder of what really matters 🧡 Diogo Jota’s wife, Rute Cardoso, honoured her late husband by running a Father’s Day 10km race in Porto wearing No.20. The tribute came ahead of Father’s Day in Portugal on 19th March, marking the family’s first without him 😔 It shows legacy isn’t just what you achieve, it’s what people feel long after you’re gone. How you show up for people is SO important. Because one day, that’s what they’ll carry with them 🕊️ And I’m sure Diogo was with her for every step ❤️ (📸: sportbible)

My dad basically became the Walter White of turmeric to save my football career… And somehow, it worked 💡 At 17 I was told my knee injuries might end everything before it had really begun. Rather than accepting that, my dad started researching natural anti-inflammatories and concocting a turmeric blend at home. II was absolutely convinced it was going to taste awful, but we landed on a blend that tasted good and did good too. But six weeks later I was back on the pitch, and the rest, as they say, is history 👀 I recently sat down with @performanceppl podcast to tell the whole story - the injuries, the recovery, building @theturmericco, and a few home truths about the juice industry that I think people will find pretty eye-opening 🧃 Check out the full episode here: youtube.com/watch?v=UyptW-… 🔗

Eight years apart… but some stories were always heading here 👀 Back in 2018, Lewis Hamilton stood alongside a young Kimi Antonelli in the paddock. One was already a world champion dominating Formula 1. The other was a kid with big dreams, watching it all unfold. Fast forward to yesterday’s Chinese Grand Prix, and the picture tells a different story. Kimi Antonelli has just taken his maiden Formula 1 victory in Shanghai, and Lewis Hamilton, now racing in Ferrari red, stood on the podium with his first top-three finish for the team 👏 Two careers at completely different stages, somehow meeting at the same moment. Today’s fan, today’s kid in the paddock, today’s observer of greatness... can become tomorrow’s headline. Destinies have a funny way of intertwining 🤝 (📸: F1)

Your brain is running your career whether you like it or not 🧠 In football, I learned quickly that when my mind was sharp, the game felt slower; I could see passes earlier, stay calm under pressure and make better decisions instinctively. When I was mentally drained, everything felt rushed. And that’s something I’ve taken with me; your brain is running every meeting, every negotiation, every big call. Yet most of us overload it daily → late nights, constant notifications, back-to-back calls, zero proper switch-off. Protect your cognitive energy like it’s part of your job description: ☀️ Get daylight early to regulate focus 🚶 Move between meetings (instead of doomscrolling!!) 📵 Create space without noise so you can actually think 🍎 Fuel consistently to avoid energy crashes High performance isn’t just strategy and ambition. It’s mental clarity. When your brain is sharp, pressure feels lighter and decisions feel obvious. Try it tomorrow and see how you go 💫 (📷: Sudha Kolluru)

Being released by Arsenal felt like the end, but it was actually the beginning 💡🚀 At 15, Liam Brady pulled me aside and told me I wasn't physical enough to make it. I joined Reading, then suffered two ACL injuries (back to back). I was nearly 3 years on the sidelines 😔 By every measure, it seems the odds were stacked against me. But here's what those years taught me: → Constraints force creativity. → Setbacks build character. →The long road builds something the fast track never could. That same mentality is what built The Turmeric Co. No one thought a functional shot brand could scale, but we’ve hit 1.5 million shots a week 👀 The people who told me I wasn't enough? They gave me the fuel. If you're in your ‘release moment’ right now - trust the redirect. Your breakthrough is closer than you think 🙌🏽

The soul of football isn’t always on the pitch 👀 The other day, I saw this tweet about a woman called Eileen at Bradford City. She’s 91 years young and has been part of the club for 39 years!! Every matchday she looks after the media room and bakes for the guests - Victoria sponge, flapjacks, Swiss rolls. That’s decades of quietly serving the club she loves 🧡 Community IS the bedrock of the game. Clubs truly belong to the people who show up year after year, doing their small part to keep the culture alive. Eileen - I have a box of turmeric with your name on it!! If anyone could help me get in touch, that’d be much appreciated 💫 (📸: mrchrishull)

I've played with someone who could have signed for a top four team… but diet held them back 👀 Before anyone asks, I’m not naming names 😅 But watching his career up close taught me something that has stuck with me ever since: The talent was obvious, yet what was happening away from the pitch didn’t match that level 🍔🍺🍕 And that lesson isn’t just about football. It’s easy to forget, but your body is the engine behind EVERYTHING → energy, focus, resilience, longevity. If you consistently fuel it poorly, eventually the ceiling arrives. Your health quietly underpins everything you’re trying to achieve. Take care of it… and it will carry you further than talent alone ever can 💭

This reminded me why the human spirit is so powerful ✨ In 2023, Alex Roca Campillo made history, becoming the first person with a 76% physical disability to complete a 42.2km marathon, despite living with cerebral palsy. Just finishing a marathon is something most people will never experience!!! Stories like this remind us that the limits we believe in are often far smaller than the ones we’re actually capable of pushing through 💫 The labels people place on us, the statistics we’re given, even the doubts we carry ourselves — none of them truly define our potential. Sometimes the biggest barrier isn’t ability. It’s belief ❤️ (🎥: annamlulis)

I had to watch this finish twice 😅 What an incredible moment at the Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday!! American runner Nathan Martin chased down Kenya’s Michael Kimani Kamau in the final metres to win by just 0.01 seconds - the closest finish EVER in the race’s history 🤯 Martin crossed the line in 2:11:16.50 after deciding to make his move around five miles from the end when the pace stalled. The whole ordeal was pretty dramatic… Kamau actually briefly ran off course earlier on in the race, after crowd interference and poor course marshalling caused confusion 😔 In a race decided by hundredths of a second, moments like that can change everything. But what stood out to me most was Martin’s mindset: when he realised no one else was pushing the pace, he decided to go. There’s a lesson in that far beyond sport - the edge often comes from just making the move. Can’t wait to see what magic comes out of the London Marathon next month 👀 (🎥: CollinRugg)

It almost didn't look real… ⏱️ Jacob Kiplimo has just run 57:20 at the Lisbon Half Marathon, becoming the fastest half-marathon runner in history!! 🚨 To put that into perspective, he ran the entire 21.1km at roughly 2:43 per kilometre pace 🤯 Plot twist: this isn't even Kiplimo's fastest. He finished at 56:42 in Barcelona earlier this year - but World Athletics wiped it from the books after footage revealed illegal pacing assistance 👀 But now? no excuses. Just a world record that sticks 👏 I love the fact that sport keeps stretching the boundaries of what we think the human body can do. Limits only exist until someone proves that it doesn’t 🚀 (🎥: trackgazette)

A little can go a long way 👏 Yesterday, Bromley shared a message with fans who made the 426 mile round trip to Grimsby: all drinks and snacks pre-match and at half-time were covered by owner and chairman Robin Stanton-Gleaves as a thank you for their support. It might sound like a small thing, but anyone who follows their team away knows the real cost of that commitment - travel, tickets, food, sometimes even hotels. It all adds up 🤷‍♂️ And trust me, as a player, nothing fires you up more than hearing your fans in the stadium!! That noise, that energy behind you... it can give you an extra gear when your legs are starting to feel heavy 👀 Football would be nothing without the fans; clubs aren't just organisations, they’re communities. When leadership recognises that and shows genuine appreciation for the people who show up week after week, it strengthens something far bigger than a result on the pitch. Fair play to Bromley 🖤🤍

The wrong voices can keep you stuck… the right one can change everything 👀 At the peak of my playing career, I was surrounded by people telling me to push through the injury pain. “Take the pill.” “Ignore the side effects.” That was the accepted way of dealing with it. Then my dad said something different: let’s explore natural remedies 🍍🍉 Yes, that conversation eventually led to The Turmeric Co. But the real breakthrough wasn’t scientific. It was being close to someone willing to challenge the thinking around me 💭 Since then I’ve realised something important: 1) If you surround yourself with people who only validate you, you stay comfortable and stagnant. 2) If you surround yourself with people who only challenge you, you burn out and start doubting everything. The REAL edge comes from people who believe in the mission and refuse to let you settle 💪 If your growth has stalled, don’t just look at your strategy… look at your circle. Who’s pushing your thinking? Who’s telling you the hard truths? Who’s already walked the path you want to take? Choose your people carefully 💫 (📸: farmacyforlife)

"Get on with it" has ended more careers than any tackle ever has 👀⚽️ On The Overlap podcast this week, Gareth revealed that he carried a torn disc throughout much of his career. It was the hidden issue behind the recurring calf injuries that sidelined him for months and led many to question his professionalism. The reason he kept quiet? He knew exactly how it would be received. That fear alone tells you a lot about the culture surrounding injury in elite sport - both on and off the pitch 😔 I was fortunate enough to share a dressing room with Gareth, and I can say without hesitation he was one of the best professionals in the game. The criticism during those injury spells was miles away from the reality. But Gareth’s story isn’t rare… it happens at every level of the game. Players hide injuries. They downplay pain. They say they’re fine during medical checks because they’re terrified of losing their place in the squad. That environment is toxic ❌ There has to be a better way. Proper nutritional support, better anti-inflammatory education, and honest conversations around injury management should be standard practice at every club. Because the real issue isn’t just the time missed on the pitch - it’s the long-term health consequences players carry long after the final whistle. And that’s not ok. Behind every “he’s always injured” headline is usually a much more complicated reality. The game needs to do better for the people who play it ✨

Nobody tells you that the worst part of a serious injury isn’t physical… It’s the moment you realise you don’t know who you are without the game 🤷‍♂️ When I saw Neymar’s message to Rodrygo today, I felt it in my chest. Rodrygo has just suffered an ACL injury, ruling him out of the World Cup this summer. Neymar wrote to him publicly like a brother, telling him to surround himself with the people he loves and trust the process. I know that feeling all too well!!! As a teenager, I ruptured my cruciate twice and was told I’d never play to the level I was destined for. It was soul-destroying. One day you’re training twice a day, surrounded by teammates, living with a clear purpose every morning. The next, you’re standing on the sideline in a coat, watching everyone else do the thing you’ve done your whole life 😔 In those moments, the people around you matter more than ever. For me, that was my father. Together, in that period of frustration and refusal to accept my ‘fate’, we started searching for something natural to help manage the pain and inflammation in my body. That instinct became the founding principle of The Turmeric Co. 🧡 Hard times reach all of us eventually. And when they do, leaning on the people around you isn’t weakness - it’s strength. Stay strong, Rodrygo 💪

A YouTuber just bought a football club because of a FIFA game he played as a teenager… 👀 KSI has taken a 20% minority stake in Dagenham & Redbridge - a 6th tier club who were relegated at the end of last season. What I love about this is the full-circle moment. It’s a club he spent hundreds of hours managing on FIFA 12 in his early YouTube days 🎮 His ambition? To take the Daggers to the Premier League 🚀 It may seem far fetched right now, but that north star is EVERYTHING!! When you're clear on where you're going, the 'how' has a way of revealing itself. That clarity is what drives every decision in between. I've lived it - when I first felt what turmeric did for my body, I had no business plan… just a quiet conviction that others needed to feel this too. And everything else was built around it 💫 Wishing KSI and everyone at Dagenham all the best - this is going to be some journey!!! ⚡⚽️

20 years in football teaches you a lot about the unwritten rules of the game... And one of them is how you treat the people who came before you 👀 I came across this footage of players and staff leaving through the tunnel after Arsenal's win over Chelsea. Standing there were Freddie Ljungberg and Emmanuel Petit - two Arsenal legends who won the lot and helped shape one of the club's greatest eras 👏 And almost nobody acknowledges them. Not after a win, not on their own patch, nothing. But Declan Rice was the one exception, and honestly, it was great to see. The way he took a moment to acknowledge two men who helped build that club says a lot about his character!!! Football has a short memory, and I get that. But the culture lives in the small moments just as much as the big ones. It costs absolutely nothing - a nod, a handshake, two seconds of your time. Dec gets it, and hopefully others take note 🙌 (🎥: meechsomto/arsenaltunnelcam)

The ‘dark arts’ just got a 5-second deadline… ⏳ From 1st June, new measures will be introduced to tackle loss of tempo and clamp down on time-wasting, rolling into the 2026–27 season. They’re talking visible countdowns on goal-kicks, throw-ins and substitutions. We’re being told these changes are about "protecting the tempo," yet VAR is being expanded to include corners 👀 How can players be put on a 5-second stopwatch for a restart while simultaneously opening the door for more VAR delays?! Plus, those few seconds aren’t always cynical. Sometimes you need to catch your breath, or to let the adrenaline settle 😮‍💨 Rules and debates aside, I’m keeping everything crossed for Wales this month 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Nothing would make me prouder than seeing the red wall back on the world stage where it belongs!!! Dewch ymlaen, Cymru ❤️
