Here to remind you how cheap the last generation PlayStation console used to get. PS4 launched at $399 MSRP, then the PS4 slim launched at $299 and went down as low as $199 (with a copy of Insomniac Spider-Man) during Black Friday Week. By comparison, PS5 digital launched for $399 and it now costs $599, a whopping $200 increase since its launch. Thanks to AI data centers sucking up all the memory and causing a worldwide memory shortage, gamers can’t even afford consoles anymore and its affecting everyone. The same hardware from 2020 now costs $200 more to buy and I cant even begin to imagine how much more expensive the PS6 will be if this keeps going.
